Coffee varies hugely from ok to poor rickety tables too. I get the feeling the owners have slightly taken their eyes off the ball here 10 Feb, 2009 Classroom chic. A fun caf in the centre of Balham with retro school desks in place of tables. The owners have gone a bit hard on the local, independent caf branding, but the coffee is good (certainly a step up from the chains), and the atmosphere lively without being too intrusive. Free WiFi and excellent muffins.

Great little cafe! We went here while visiting London on a friend’s recommendation. Their toasted sandwiches are delicious and their coffee is definitely one of the best we tried while in London, we found it really difficult to find decent coffee in the UK so we’re pretty happy to find this place!

So a few things to work on but Bertie and Boo will always be busy no matter what, great location, nice atmosphere and good menu. They'll do fine without my advice thank you very much.
