I have passed this restaurant so many times of the past few years and never gone on. I seized the opportunity today when summerlicious started and this restaurant was participating. They had a fantastic menu with all of my favourites on it. We sat on the back patio (I also had no idea there was one and this restaurant is definitely bigger on the inside) which was lovely. There's a small fountain, authentic preserved gas lamps, a really cool shrubbery wall...it's cozy and it makes you feel like you're in a cafe in Europe. This is a tricky place I review. The food is very good - great drink selection, excellent starters and mains, and good desserts. We liked everything we tried (with the exception of the osso buco main), with a few standouts (carpaccio starter, for example, was stellar). However, as other reviewers have stated, the atmosphere is a bit stuffy, and it feels very old school (think 1970s) Italian restaurant. On our visit, we were the youngest people there (and we're in our late 40s). But, given all this, it's exceedingly expensive, even for consistently good food. Save it for a very special occasion where you don't care about the price.

Old school Italian dishes in a very open setting. But not cheap.The wine list needs to be revamped as they have a list of about a dozen Vintage ports, but then only had a single low end offering available.Not sure if we will return as the value was not there.

My husband brought me here for my birthday and it was the best and most authentic Italian food that I've ever had in a restaurant! Our server was absolutely fantastic, the atmosphere was perfect and we'll definitely be going here again!

Besides serving wonderful Italian cuisine all year round, Biagio throws open his restaurant every Christmas to host the city’s vulnerable population. I can’t recommend his establishment highly enough!

Basic Italian cuisine, prepared to perfection. Friendly, family-style service makes you feel like a much beloved cousin. Not cheap but well worth the cost. My favourite Toronto restaurant.

We have been there several times and love sitting close to the Windows nearest King St. You never get disappointed and the fare is consistently good with a great varied Wine List. Reserva una mesa ahora

It's a relatively quiet place on King Est, with some of the regular customers... Food turned out to be good after a very slow service though

Carefully prepared Italian food. Don't expect sauce-drenched meat with side of pasta. Good wine list. Professional service. Expensive.
