This is supposed to be one of the best speakeasy in PDX area. The bar had cool church vibe and seating. It is a snug place with very limited seating making it all the more intriguing. However, I wished they at least made it breathable. The air inside the small room seemed very damp and dull and not of good quality. A little air purifier after hours or more ventilation would be great. We decided to not have second round of drinks due to this feeling of being caught in the tight space breathing wise. The cleanliness was an issue for me too. Coming to drinks, the old fashioned was great with nice presentation. The gin cocktail was poorly presented and tasted average. No wow factor! I had heard of this place but never visited and neither have my parents who have lived in Portland for 30+ years. I don't know how we haven't been yet. We sat out in the patio out back which has it's own bar separate from inside the house. There was one woman making all of the food and everything we ordered was delicious. It was fun to share the plates between us. It allowed us to try more and we didn't regret ordering anything. The bartender was extremely helpful and even created a mocktail for my mom that wasn't on the menu. His drinks were incredible and he had hustle to ensure every table had a heater going and even got us cushions to sit on. I can't recommend the Bible Club PDX enough....

From the outside, this looks like any other house in the neighborhood, perhaps with louder music coming from the backyard. But once you step inside, you're in one of the coolest speakeasies in the Pacific Northwest. While there's outdoor seating for more social events in nice evenings, the indoor bar and tables are the highlight. Beer is nice, but the cocktails are the main attraction, especially the old-timey ones. I got a smoked Manhattan and it was absolutely amazing. The food ain't lagging behind. While it's fancy pub fare, the quality is really good. I recommend the olives and the cheese. Definitely worth visiting, and great place to bring friends as well!

This review focuses on the outdoor area, as I couldn't find a separate listing for it. I truly enjoyed my time at this venue. The live music was fantastic, and I've heard that the artists are consistently impressive. The drinks were inventive; I sampled a twist on a Moscow Mule and the Portland Fog. I tried the latter hot, and it was just right—though it is quite lavender-flavored, so be cautious if that’s not your preference. The food was also excellent. We ordered the baked brie, a charcuterie board, and a meatball dish. Everything was delicious, but we definitely overordered for just the two of us. This restaurant is truly one-of-a-kind, with a quirky and intriguing atmosphere; at times, it felt like the music was coming from an old Victrola, and the drinks were secretly bootlegged, making us feel out of place in our modern attire. I'm not quite sure what era the place aims to evoke, but I wouldn't be surprised if other patrons were indulging in their own vices throughout the establishment. The cocktails we tried were fantastic! The Baccanal had a delightful fruity flavor, while The Real McCoy featured a delicious blend of apple pie and citrus with a hint of cinnamon. We also enjoyed the pretzel bun appetizer, which was excellent!

This place is a true hidden gem. It’s quite challenging to locate, and once you're inside, it feels a bit like you’re stepping into someone’s home. The space is cozy, creating an intimate atmosphere! The bartender is fantastic and can whip up a delightful drink just by listening to a few of your preferences. The food was equally impressive! There was a live band performing on the back patio, which offered a really nice open area to enjoy. I will definitely return!

I'm a huge fan of this speakeasy! The Bible Club has done an amazing job of creating an authentic 1920s atmosphere. Their cocktails are outstanding and thoughtfully crafted. The staff is among the best in Portland. I truly enjoy every visit to this beautiful bar and can’t wait for my next one. It's the kind of place I always bring guests to showcase what Portland has to offer.

Keep an eye out for the red glass door, as it's the only sign that you've discovered the club. The cocktails were fantastic, and the atmosphere was charming. We seemed to miss the study group, and after our first round, I had already started thinking about an escape plan in case the authorities showed up. I was fully immersed in the experience. I had a fantastic experience! The building is really impressive, and the interior decor is particularly cool, especially the bathroom. It's a cozy spot inside. The drinks were excellent and truly one-of-a-kind! The staff was very polite as well. I would love to visit again!
