BiCE, is a collection of premium Italian restaurants, originally from Italy but now with locations around the world. Located in between Worth Ave and Peruvian Ave in Palm Beach, Bice is certainly one of the more elevated (dare I say “posh” restaurants in the entire area. This is a classically styled setting service traditional Italian food but of premium quality. More than the food is the service and attention to detail. There are always a number of servers milling about to take care of you, so that you never feel unattended. Went to Bice on a Tuesday evening. We utilized the complimentary valet which was great. We were greeted by a pleasant hostess who led us to our table which was in the back dining room. The restaurant is very elegant. The service was on point. I ordered the branzino and my friend ordered the risotto with seafood and a Ceasar salad. He really enjoyed the risotto but was not wowed by the lackluster Ceasar. I have to say my branzino was also lacking. It was filleted on top of roasted vegetables. The whole dish was not good. Very pedestrian cooking, overcooked pasta with what tased like a sauce made from pasta water, devoid of flavor. Overcooked shrimp. Messy presentation, all 5 items I tried lacked any depth of flavor. Place is pretty, lots of traffic and was looking forward to a great meal. Also our server had zero personality, seemed like he was doing us a favor, not one smile, and I had to keep calling him back for drinks. Sorry guys, I really wanted to enjoy this $435 meal, but it was a let down.
