Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. We stopped due to taking a detour because of heavy traffic traveling to Richmond, VA and I’m sure glad we did. I got the howling sampler, so I could try a bit of everything and it was all delicious. My father-in-law has eaten BBQ all over the country and agreed that this was one of the best he has had. Staff was very hospitable and gave us samples of brisket, pulled pork, strawberry shortcake pudding, and even a lemonade BBQ sauce, which was awesome. I’d gladly take a detour again for seconds! First off, this is not a fine dining establishment and anyone expecting that sort of experience will be sorely disappointed. What you do get is friendly service (as fast as they can provide it), a fun atmosphere, and excellent barbecue. My wife and I came on a Friday night and they were assembling a large catering order on three of the 6 or so tables inside. We were the only dine in guests but there was a steady stream of to-go orders being served up the entire time we were there. We got the sampler and a pound of sliced brisket and it was all great. Not only are their smoked wings, ribs, greens, baked beans, and pineapple upsidedown cake DELICIOUS. The service is professional and they give you a family feel upon welcome to see you next time! I would also like to mention that when my family experience a house fire the blessed us with dinner for the night and any time we were hungry during the week. Now, that's family!? My neighbor recommended this place so we decided to check it out. Wish I had great things to report, but I don't. Ordered online and still had to wait an hr for the food when we arrived. Portions were small, chicken was not fresh and definitely left over from days prior and dry. Mac and cheese worst I ever had, oily and bland. Beef brisket was bland and had more fat than actual meat, and the rice and beans and cole slaw were just horrible. Definitely my first and last visit, just disappointing. I have to rave about this hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious! I tried the smoked chicken, mac and cheese, and collard greens, while my friend ordered the same but swapped the collards for fried cabbage. Even though I live 20 miles away, I’m planning to return next week. I came in expecting just a basic BBQ and soul food experience, but I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the soul food here. I can’t wait to start recommending this place to others, and I’m sure anyone who visits will feel the same!

The only bad thing I could say is they could use a better location with a bigger dinning area, seemed a bit cramped. That was all forgotten soon after arriving because of the absolutely amazing customer service, the pork and smoked chicken were absolutely delicious, there wolf beans were suggested and I loved their kick, and the pudding was EVERYTHING! I visited the restaurant for the first time and ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was tasty until I discovered a long hair in the meat, which was absolutely disgusting! They really should require their employees to wear hair nets. Overall, I give the food a rating of 2.
