I went there to grab a to go order, I had arrived right when they opened so no one was there yet. This was a 4pm on a Friday, it was nice though that I got to chat with the owner, Gary. He gave me a bit of history from how they started, to where they are at now. Good guy, doing what he loves. We had ordered quite a few things: Brisket Ribs Texas Brisket Cheesesteak Jalapeño Sausage Mac Cheese Beans Potato Salad Skillet Potatoes Honestly, everything was good. Our favorites were the brisket, sausage (which also had cheese in it), mac (which had bits of sausage in it). I had a wonderful experience with my family at this restaurant last week. My husband had tasted their food at a work event and claimed it was the best pulled pork and brisket he had ever had. We decided to visit the brick-and-mortar location as a family later that week, and we were not disappointed. The portions were generous! Our family of three ordered two sandwich plates, but we could have easily shared just one. One of the owners was there, and it was clear that he is passionate about his work. He was very personable and attentive. We're excited about their new location opening soon!
Outstanding customer service! The food was incredible! We enjoyed the peppered sausage and pulled pork, but my personal favorite was the brisket. The sides were AMAZING—I could easily eat just the sides and be satisfied. The mac and cheese was simply SUPERB!!! We also loved the corn bake, which reminded me of Mexican street corn but without the chili. The potatoes were full of flavor and delicious. And the spicy barbecue sauce was the perfect finishing touch! I will definitely be back!
I had a wonderful experience dining at Big D BBQ this evening. Since we were visiting from out of town, we decided to give it a try, and we’re so glad we did! The staff was friendly, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very family-friendly. We ordered a family-style meal that included brisket, mac and cheese, green beans, and BBQ beans. I'm really disappointed. I spent $50 on dinner and received ribs that are the size of my fingers. I could fit all of them in the palm of my hand—I’ll include a photo. The brisket was dripping with fat, yet the inside was dry! The mac and cheese wasn't any better; it had an overwhelming fake Velveeta flavor. I definitely wouldn't recommend spending your money here. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was delightful! I ordered the brisket grilled cheese, which came with two sides—I chose the mac and cheese and potatoes. Service was dine-in, and the price per person ranged from $10 to $20. I highly recommend the sausage mac and cheese!
