Was in the mood for Chinese food. Found this place on the map, walked in and the staff was sitting at a table making dumplings with no gloves on. They looked at me and said nothing, finally I tell them it’s just me for lunch. They take me to a sit and walk away. They show up with water and little chips like thing. I was given a menu and give me 10 seconds to order. While being told that they have no lunch menu at 11:30? I said ok and ordered from the dinner meals. This place must have a different owner. I have eaten here in the past and the food was delicious and fresh. Yesterday my experience was completely the opposite and my food went into the garbage after a few bites. The scallion pancakes were so tough and chewy and had zero taste, it was obviously not freshly made. I ordered the general tso's chicken and the broccoli was old and chewy and the dish was just spicy no taste just spicy hot. I knew I was not getting freshly prepared food because I was shocked at how soon my food came out after ordering in the restaurant. I did not pre-order my food. I recently dined at this restaurant for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The meal was not only delicious but also reasonably priced, falling between $10 and $20 per person, which I found to be excellent value for the quality of food. I would rate the food a perfect 5 out of 5. The service was equally impressive, earning a 5 as well. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure that everything was to our liking without being intrusive. The atmosphere was quite pleasant, with a rating of 4. The food was decent but not exceptional, and it felt overpriced for Chinese cuisine. I had high expectations, but the restaurant didn't quite live up to the hype. While it's better than takeout, the prices are three times what they should be. Blossom in Chatham offers a much better experience. Additionally, the service left much to be desired. They put hot peppers in my Singapore rice noodles. I almost needed medical attention from swallowing them as they were hidden in noodles. I specifically asked for curry to be hot. When I complained the waiter mocked me by repeating over and over to owner he asked for it hot. Nobody apologized.
The food was decent, but quite pricey. The Chicken Lo Mein had just four small pieces of chicken. The shrimp appeared larger than usual, likely due to the excessive breading. The rice was on the dry side, and the egg roll was noticeably smaller compared to those at other Chinese restaurants.
We had the Triple Crown dish, and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. The staff was very friendly, making our experience even better. We dined in for lunch, and the price per person was around $10–20. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4.
