My friends and I had such a wonderful meal here last night; I don't normally leave reviews for places but I felt compelled to as it was just that good! We started with a deliciously dry Lambrusco for our aperitif at the bar, as suggested by the attentive and extraordinarily knowledgable owner, Dan. We then found ourselves a table and got stuck into some fat, salty slices of grilled chorizo swimming in WA honey, and a lemony salted cod dip with house-made lavosh (one of the best dishes of the night). Not being able to decide between a red or white wine, we paired the dishes with a very tasty Provonçeal rosé. No complaints here. We then moved on to the larger plates, leaving the choosing up to the very talented head-chef, Alia. She sent us out a zesty fish carpaccio (which was eaten with relish by my seafood-disliking boyfriend), the smoked mushrooms (a table favourite), the chargrilled leeks with anchovy and parmesan (my favourite), the peach, curd, and grains (unique, herby, and thoroughly tasty), the kangaroo with hazelnuts (succulent meat, crunchy nuts, and moreish jus), a herb salad (which my boyfriend hasn't stopped talking about), and, noticing that my friend was using his fingers to mop the plates clean of their delicious juices, two types of bread (the winner being the house-made grainy loaf). By this stage we'd moved onto a McLaren Vale red recommended by Dan that was universally declared to be the best drop of the night. Deciding on cheese instead of dessert, we let Dan chose us 3 formidable fromages. Despite having lived a year in France, the creamy chablis was one of the best cheeses I've had in memory. Pairing each cheese with it's recommended fortified liqueur was well worth the indulgence, too. Finally, not believing that we'd eaten quite enough, Alia sent us out a sweet surprise in the form of the chocolate ganache with ginger which we shared between the four of us (and which we obviously accompanied with a yummy armagnac, because we hadn't already imbibed enough). Rolling home we all declared it to be one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. The impeccable service, the attention to detail, the ambiance, but mainly, the food & drinks at Billie H have made it my new favourite restaurant (and the one I'll be taking my Mum to for her birthday later this month). Thank you again to Dan, Alia, and the team for such a special night!

Great food and service... well done. Try the beef... best ever. A well lit makover that creates a nice ambience and something different. Very professionally run indeed. Highly recommended

No es genial en absoluto. Muy pretencioso y el café estaba a punto de horrible. Realmente decepcionó que esta era la mejor opción para esta ubicación. ¡Ven a un Claremont!
