I am a Tiptree regular, and I have been in Bill 's Plaice many-a time, and despite its rather endearing and clever pun, the food doesn 't exactly live up to expectation. The staff don 't exactly look like their hearts are in this business and the food takes the brunt of that disappointment. Needless to say, some of the staff don 't look a day over 16, and child labour is a movement that I cannot monetize. I ordered the crab cake, '**** cake ' more like, and the gooey mush that passed down my throat soon made a swift gooey mush exit down below. Please fix your food. 2/10.
Visiting family.treated them to fish and chips got back to house and haddock was so small.i asked for a medium haddock it wasn't even a child's portion. To far to walk back so had to make sandwiches to make up for it.very disappointed.did here ower say there was no more haddock so I think I was given a scrappy end piece.as it was all wrapped up could not check it.cod looked very nice.will not visit again 8.00 for a piece for rubbish
Was passing through Tiptree yesterday evening 19/08/21, as taking my mother in-law out for the day to Mersey. Stopped off ordered fish chips , sausage chips and the best we have had in a very long time. The staff were really nice from the minuet I stepped through the door. A real lovely fish and chip shop. We be returning very soon. Well done team.
Was told by a family member to try bills so we did this evening 17/2/2023) what a little jem wife had pie chips and a sneaky Saveloy I had a lamb curry chips, definitely worth the drive over from with and would highly recommend anyone to try it, Bill, we will be back Almost forgot great value and the staff are very friendly and helpful

Come on Bill, fish chips are expensive enough, have been a regular customer for many years but tonight's chips were absolute rubbish, most were bits and went in the bin, please up your game or will have to go elsewhere
Food there Has been clearly cooked with a good eye the fish was amazing and the chips were just perfect.Also tried a curry couple weeks ago and they cook to how you want your curry.
Friday night treat as usual it was perfect, fantastic food and great helpful friendly staff will back very soon The lamb curry is the best I’ve ever had
A good variety on the menu. Amazing curries, kebabs, burgers. Excellent service and always friendly with customers who come in.
