QR code menus, enough said.I understand it was necessary during COVID, and for places that only have a few options for food type, it's fine to still be QR code only. But sushi restaurants are not that kind of place. They have 100+ items, all similar in style and ingredients, so having a physical menu to compare rolls and options is extremely helpful. The online only menu means you have to constantly scroll up and down the page looking for what you want and trying to compare options, and it's honestly way more stressful than it's worth. Rolls are extremely similar with one or two ingredients different, so if you scroll down to look at the options, it takes forever to find the original item yo...
Regarding sushi in the Ballard neighborhood, there are few options, let alone good ones. Billy Beach Sushi Bar stands tall above the rest. The food was excellent, and it is one of the few restaurants I've been to in Seattle that offers pressed oshi-zushi. The quality of the fish was high, and the portions were large, which justified the prices for me. The meal's highlight was the amaebi and the expertly battered fried heads. I will return here whenever I'm in the neighborhood and looking for quality sushi.
