My wife & I attended a business dinner at the Potts Point restaurant which is larger in seating size compared to the original Surrey Hills restaurant. And it was very busy - with two sittings. Kylie Kwong was in the kitchen which is most refreshing given that most celeb chefs are rarely if ever seen behind the stove as their empires grow,Full marks to Chef for sticking to the principle of sourcing and serving only locally-grown, organic fruit, vegetables, poultry, meat and others. And pride in and wirh the local community as the local sources are identified including local schools and charities. It sets the tone for a rewarding dining experience. Our colleagues chose the banquet option, not o...

Our Asian parents were really disappointed in us dropping the $$$ on a high end Asian restaurant. "$16 for four wontons??". But it's Kylie Kwongs restaurant so all was forgiven. The crispy wontons were actually amazing, not too sure about the price but the spicy sauce went so well with it. The tasty perfectly fried morsels left us hungry for more. The mini pork buns did not live up to expectations, they were delicious but nothing you couldn't get at a dim sum for $5. Once again, the spicy sauce was a delicious condiment. The fried chicken dish (I forgot the name) was a really good portion. Enough for two. The sauce was delicious and the chicken was fried perfectly. It was a lovely finish...
I went to Billy Kwong last night with my boyfriend. The food was quite nice (interesting flavours), although a little on the pricey side. A couple of particularly disappointing aspects:1. We ordered a carafe of wine, and we were given a small taste. It tasted oxidised, and on questioning the waiter eventually told us the particular bottled had been open from the day before. He took our questions as a personal affront, and was vaguely rude for the remainder of the dining experience.2. I told the waitress when we arrived that i was gluten free, and she indicated that most things on the menu were fine (other than wonton and dumplings). Although I steered clear of these things, I later had a rea...
I enjoy going to Billy Kwong. On this occasion I dined with family and friends. The restaurant, as always, was full and buzzing. Staff were polite, attentive, and helpful. Despite a diversity of tastes, we ordered a number of dishes to share and they were enjoyed by all. The food was well presented. My only disappointment was that the nice chocolate dessert was not on offer, but the desserts that we had were very, very good. Unless you are particularly hard to please, Billy Kwong makes for a great night out - whether seated on the stools near the bar or at the tables. It is the right restaurant in the right place for the 2011 set. Reserva una mesa ahora
Billy Kwong has had good reviews so we tried a week night visit. Menu limited and specials written in illegible handwriting on paper menu. Several specials are not written down so you are unaware of the price. Was very expensive eg 4 small prawn dumplings size of gyoza $24, 3 pork buns $24. Interesting flavour gelato &24. Duck $49 v sticky to eat & no hand towels or water bowls offered. Taste of food ..OK but doesn't reflect price. Glass wine serving would barely make 100mls if you're lucky. Not worth the price.
Great dining experience. Good food and a really nice atmosphere. This place holds quite a few people yet the seating still feels fairly intimate. The service was fantastic, absolutely top class. Out waitress was highly knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the menu. We had the 10 course BK Banquet which has just enough of everything from the menu. They were happy to swap out items on the banquet that we didn't want as I don't eat fish. Have the Home Style Fried Eggs with Chilli Sauce.
We have been dining at Billy Kwong's for over 15 years when we visit Sydney from Melbourne. It has always been great & last night's dinner kept the standard. Beautiful Prawn & Ginger dumplings in a wonderful sauce, excellent shui mai, steamed snapper in a beautiful broth, followed by duck in blood orange & plum broth. The Kylie Kwong Heathcote Rose & Barossa Shiraz were perfect wines with the food.It is a MUST GO TO restaurant.
Love this place. We make sure we go here every time we are in Sydney. The service is always impeccable and it's always good to see Kylie in the kitchen. The big thing for me is that they make gluten free dining so easy without making a big deal of it. Also very kid friendly. This time my 4 year old was actually asleep while we ate and the staff were gorgeous about it. We will be back Reserva una mesa ahora
We had made a booking at Kylie's restaurant months before and travelled from Canberra. The service was good as was the vibe. We chose the 10 course degustation. Unfortunately it was just too salty, there was no relief from the saltiness with any contrasting flavours until the icecream at the end.
We had a great meal at Billy Kwong. Actually I like it's chinese name better, which reminds me of my families and relatives. The staffs were friendly and helpful.

"I was satisfied with the food. Burgers are between $14.90 and $15.90. The drinks are more expensive than other places, and the free Wi-Fi is slow and stops working intermittently."
