I went here today and was subjected to without doubt the worst Sunday Carvery have ever had, everything was overcooked and without seasoning, roast potato's needed a hacksaw to cut, the mashed potato was like wallpaper paste, by the time we got back to our table our tea was cold and the beer was warm, to add to that the food was cold after a few mouthfuls, we left with at least 3/4 of our food untouched, I would have given zero stars but my son liked the gammon. Oh and to the woman in the queue that was effing and jeffing non stop, no one is interested in hearing you
We took our dad for his birthday today Dad loves a carvery and with have been in the past and the one in Wakefield too and the food has been lovely We had to wait for the chef for the meat we ended up asking if anyone was serving The roast potatoes was so hard they would of broken my teeth Mash potatoes was flat cold even dad commented Cauliflower cheese all dry Stuffing couldn’t get off the spoon Gravy Luke warm The staff on the bar was lovely very friendly A very disappointed dad what should of been a lovely birthday treat
Appreciate it was Sunday and extremely busy,but that should not reflect on quality, after waiting in the queue for 20mins,whilst the staff concentrated more on take out orders,anyway I got beef and gammon,I couldn't even get the knife to cut the beef it was so tough,the Yorkshire pudding was chewy,so when asked by Kelly D if there was anything she could do I asked for a refund which she did in a polite and professional manner so the food wasn't quality but the customer service from Kelly was great
Carvery, cakes and charm. Toby, Toby who? You'll never think of him again after your visit to Birchwood! We got served by Dale for our carvery with the his professionalism and charm. He noticed our daughter was shy and made a point of giving her 100% of his attention to involve her and give her the best first carvery experience possible. Who know she liked that much veg! A credit to the team

Carvery was lovely and the other food was When we eventually got it. Food service was shocking 3of us had finished our meals before others had even got there's. Ordered dessert waited over half an hour then gave in . We got a refund but had very sad children one being autistic. This will have a massive affect on not only him but us too. We definitely won't be back
Had to write a review as the food was soo bad All the meat was dry , all the vegetables were mushy and cold. Didn't even bother mixing the pre bought mash together which was cold. Cauliflower cheese was just cold mush. Burned parsnips say in a inch of fat. No condiments . Seriously won't be going again . It's cheap yes but still feel ripped off.
Staff lovely as always but food is going way down hill got offered a free cheesecake don’t usually do desserts but took one and tried abit???!!! Cheesecake?? Really?? Fake cake more like!! The label on the side says it all !! I may have just a drink and a chat with the lovely staff next time
greeted by lovely staff on arrival but had to wait far too long for someone to come out to serve me a carvery even though they were shouted twice and it continued to happen to other customers whilst we was there

Brilliant carvery, the food was lovely and very reasonable prices. All the staff were friendly and Paige was very helpful.
We was served by the fabulous DEAN who is absolutely AMAZING
