Bistro 1947 Indian Cuisine

I had a lot of Indian food all over the world. this was disappointing. Although I'm fair for the place, I still find a good Indian curry in Australia. I will give them credit to be flexible with. providing vegan options. had a delivery / delivery. but eating was less than mediocre. beginning with the poppadoms. they were the packed, small microwaves. that is a scandalous and an Indian restaurant should not offer something I would have bought myself. they are salty, fatty, processed and not acceptable. they came with (what should be free, but charged) a wobbly salad. not chopped up and so were great pieces of wobbles that had never before in an Indian in the world. Love this place! A must try for authentic Indian food in the area! Every dish has unique flavours and distinct nuances. Favourite dish of ours is the chicken murgh methi malai curry which is now our go to when serving guests at home for dinner if we get takeaway! Everybody loves it once they try! Good family packs deals to try lamb rogan josh and butter chicken with generous portions of saffron rice and buttery naan with soothing yogurt raita and samosa appetisers. Simply a delight to have such fast friendly service every single time no matter how busy they get (& they do since the locals know about this best kept secret) they take care of their customers.

This is an authentic Indian restaurant. They make all their own pastes, not the bottle one many Indian restaurants use.Every meal has it's own great flavour. The saffron rice is not yellow coloured rice, it has threads of saffron in it. We shared 1/2 tandoori chicken for entree, my partner had the butter chicken and I had a vegetarian (I am not one) Eggplant dish. We loved it ! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to the fact the restaurant was cold and we ad a very young inexperienced waitress.

have tried a few Indian restaurants in our antidote and we love up to 1947. the portions are generous and well seasoned. not tormented for western, except they ask! traditional taste and friendly service. our new master!

I don't enjoy Indian so don't read to much into this review. They were happy people though and a good looking place where they made you welcome.
