My dining partner and I both ordered the Soupe a l'Oignon, the French classic. We both agreed it was exceptionally done in all its glory. My partner thought her salad (included almonds) was excellent. My steak frites was sadly disappointing. A nice piece of meat. Cooked correctly. McDonalds French fries which i prefer to the smaller fries frequently served with steak frites. But the whole point of steak frites is to have a nice sauce on the steak and to be able to dredge the fries in the sauce and meat juices. Instead I just ate dry McDonalds fries. And what was with what I think was some quickly pan-wilted watercress served along with the steak? No vinagrette? No gastrique? Just dull undres...
Catching up with old friends and it was a wonderful setting. Comfy booth, not too loud, we could really talk. Food was delicious. The only thing that was a little off putting was that they were out of things on the wine list-one white was completely not available and second choice only had one bottle left. At least our server was honest with us. This was a Thursday night. Hopefully, a shipment was arriving the next day.
We had a absolutely wonderful evening at Bistro Bis for our anniversary. Drinks impeccable. Service wonderful. Food was absolutely amazing from the charcuterie plate to our mains (crab cakes, ny strip and pork tenderloin) and dessert the care and attention to plating and taste was amazing. Would totally recommend anyone in the area to book Bistro Bis for the wonderful meal and experience that it was.
