I wanted this to be excellent but it was most disappointing. The food is authentic, typically French bistro and perfect portion sizes. Special mention for the chicken liver parfait (yum) and the chicken and leek main course. Steak frites is typically okay. The core issues here is the service or lack there of. Almost impossible to spend money as you waive down service for a starting champagne to be ignored and then sit with a meal waiting for the wine. The owner is most disinterested in serving and taking care of customers, quite bizarre if one wants to have return customers. The ambience is stale and could be warmed up with some decoration inside the restaurant and music playing during meal...

The food was decent, scoring a 3 out of 5. While it wasn’t anything extraordinary, it certainly met expectations. However, the service left much to be desired. I would rate it a 2 out of 5; the staff seemed inattentive and slow to respond to requests. As for the atmosphere, it was average—providing a basic setting but lacking charm or distinctive character, resulting in a rating of 3 out of 5. Overall, it was a satisfactory lunch, but improvements in service would make a significant difference.

Finally found the amazing chef from La Cliche North Adelaide. Tasted the Beef bourguignon and all I could think was is this the same chef. Honestly amazing restaurant and happy to be a loyal patron again. Everything was spot-on. Great front of house staff that are friendly and attentive. Good selection of french bistro classics. Will have to try his other venture, Four sides as well. 5/5 must try Kid-friendliness: High chair access Service: Dine in

The French Bistro was a real revelation: the menu leaves enough choice without spreading itself too thin to specialize in each dish, the staff is particularly attentive and the variety of wine allows you to accompany your dishes warmly. The food here is quite good. The escargots are delicious when paired with bread. The crepe is generously topped with cheese and shredded potatoes, making it an interesting dish. The confit duck has a sweeter flavor rather than the typical salty profile, which is a bit unique. The desserts are indulgently sweet and rich. Overall, I had a lovely dinner experience with great service.

I had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant! The confit duck and the cordon bleu were both outstanding. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I highly recommend it for dinner. The price per person was around A$60–80. Rating: Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5. Must-try dishes include the Confit De Canard and Poulet Cordon Bleu.
