Sunday nights can be difficult in France. We had just missed getting up the 7 (or is it 5? lock staircase on our first night on our canal boat, so walked into Beziers for something to do and to eat. We went through some rough areas of the town, but were able to walk up to the gorgeous Cathédrale St. Nazaire to see the sunset. While looking for a restaurant, we came across several that were supposed to be open but were not and a couple where they just didn't want to seat our party of 8. A kind French woman directed us to a courtyard filled with outdoor tables, people dining, lights strung up to provide a welcome. We had six people for dinner. Full reservation by chance (21 telephone calls and 17 restaurants closed. In front of the bhv we admire this beautiful façade, the boss tells us the story of this building. Great! Well the meal, yes we waited, yes the tables were served before us, yes there was a clash with the customers. now they were only two problems in the kitchen). They did as we can in the restoration, we adapt. but dishes must cook, serve and serve in and out. So, when you understand, you mock staff, you eat hot and quality products. We had a good night there, we enjoyed it. We enjoyed the bhv.
Venus for the first time in Beziers today, October 28, we found this bistro with a welcoming terrace for lunch, my wife my son and myself. Very courteous welcome and service throughout the meal. We have all three feasts with fresh and well cooked products. The tartare of Aubrac was a pure delight with a very tender and tasteful meat. Bravo and good continuation to the team.
