We hired Bittersweet for both our Wedding Cake and Groom’s cake. Their cakes were excellent in both taste and design. Our wedding cake was a very traditional--5 tiers with almond/wedding cake outer icing, almond/wedding cake, and cream cheese filling. Not only was it easily one of the best–if not the best–cake we’ve ever tasted, the design was elegant and perfectly matched our wedding. They also worked with us to create a stencil for the outer icing which matched the design of the bride’s veil and was absolutely beautiful. Being a first-time customer, I was thoroughly impressed with this place. From the friendly staff to the delicious drinks and pastries, everything was top-notch. I ordered a German chocolate cake for my sister's birthday on Saturday morning as we spent the day exploring as tourists. I dropped by the restaurant and spoke with the owner, who offered to deliver the cake to our hotel due to our conflicting schedule with a gator tour. The customer service was exceptional! Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was also incredibly delicious. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I will definitely return when I'm back in New Orleans.
Highly recommend Bittersweet Confection! Delicious and beautiful! I worked with Cheryl and Venessa, great customer service. I wanted to surprise my husband with pilot wings on his grooms cake (something he wanted but didn’t think it was possible). I ordered a mold off Etsy and had it shipped to their business and it turned out perfect! After the cake was dropped off, there was an accident while setting up that led to the red velvet layer getting messed up. Without hesitation, they came back to the venue and fixed it before guests arrived. I had no idea this happened until after the wedding and am so thankful for them!

Despite being from out of town, they were incredibly easy to work with and handled everything in a professional and timely manner. The cakes were not only beautiful but also absolutely delicious. I am so glad I discovered this hidden gem. The restaurant is extremely clean, and the staff were very friendly. I decided to have breakfast there, and it was excellent. I ordered the classic breakfast, which can be customized to your liking. I also bought some pastries and desserts to take with me for later, which were displayed in a well-stocked case. I highly recommend this place!
Bittersweet did my wedding cake and it was divine! Not only was it beautiful but absolutely delicious and moist! We did a chocolate/vanilla layer with almond cream in the middle and buttercream on the outside. I had multiple people come up to me and say it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. I can't wait to go back to NOLA and order a cupcake version!
I knew I needed to try King Cake while in New Orleans during the season. Bittersweet Confections was in walking distance from the hotel so I decided to go here. The people were really nice and I was glad the had mini sized options because I was able to get two flavors. The mini is almost a 12 diameter but I didn 't look closely at the regular size.
We found this place walking to the WW II Museum and decided to try their breakfast. It was amazing! All of it! The eggs, the grits, the bacon, and the toast! It filed us up, and we weren't hungry again until later that night. The price was amazing as well. Definitely recommend this place. My kid has already asked that we go back tomorrow morning. Wonderful spot to east breakfast! Went with my daughters and we all loved it. My youngest declared we should eat there the next morning. Try their croissant french toast for something unique and delicious, or go traditional with the classic breakfast for eggs and bacon. They also have gourmet coffees and grab and go bakery treats.
