Black Bear Diner

Black Bear Diner is a restaurant chain in the western United States that serves home style and old-fashioned comfort food. The first restaurant was opened in 1995 in Mount Shasta, California... Black Bear Decor has a rustic motif with over-the-top bear Paraphernalia. Each restaurant is decorated with a 12-foot ball (3.7 m) black bear carving by Ray Schulz. Other wall paintings and artworks are created for every restaurant by Steve and Gary Fitzgerald and Colleen Mitchell-Veyna. The menu format imitates an old newspaper entitled: The Black Bear Gazette with articles on the front. It offers family meals such as breakfast, burgers, salads and shakes.

Had a nice meal with family. Was a bit disappointed with the Mikey's Chicken Pot Pie. The chicken was mostly missing and carrots were the only recognizable vegetable. Looked the the other vegetables were blended in with the watery chicken gravy. It tasted good, but was the most disappointing pot pie I've ever had. This has not put me off Black Bear Diner as I had an excellent turkey meal and experience at the one in Shasta. The server was great and very attentive.

I am always greeted with friendly, happy employees who really enjoy what they do. Everything in this place makes you feel like you are for a treat. Prices are very affordable and the choices are quite large. My favorite place to eat when I'm in the area.. Very recommended!!

Large portions, innovative menu. Friendly staff giving great service. Super range of choices for those who want either much less or much more. The kind of place where you want to come back to try the rest of the menu. They even took care of my vegan sister-in-law!!

The food is sooooo good here! I've tried many different dishes and they are so fantastic. The chefs are top notch. The servers are super nice and friendly though, if you have a custom order be sure to repeat it.
