I absolutely love Black Bear Diner, no matter the location! The friendly staff and excellent service always make a lasting impression, along with the delicious food. During this visit, I had the chance to introduce my mother-in-law to Black Bear Diner, and she was definitely impressed. She chose the Grizz breakfast, which I warned her might be a bit much since it includes bacon, sausage, ham, two buttermilk pancakes, and your choice of eggs. I can attest that the sausage and ham were tasty, and she declared the scrambled eggs to be the best she’s ever had! I went with the loaded onion rings topped with shredded cheddar cheese and bacon. I’ll always recommend Black Bear Diner!
The hash browns were not freshly made; they were dry and very tough to chew, as if they had been sitting for several hours. Only half of my toast slices were buttered, and there was no butter available at the table. Our server never checked back on us or our food. Although the manager did remove one item from our bill, I won’t be returning. We waited more than 30 minutes, and only as we were about to leave did we finally hear the grill turn on for the first time. None of the food seemed fresh, and we had a clear view of the kitchen, which had been empty until that moment.
Black Bear Diner Colorado Springs Garden Of The Gods is a wonderful family-friendly spot! The bear-themed decor adds a charming, fun, and laid-back vibe. Having been here before, I can say the food truly stands out. Every dish I’ve had has been delicious, and the menu features a great variety of comfort food options. The restaurant is very clean overall. The service is decent, though it could be a bit better. If you like iced tea, be careful—I found mine tasted stale and off, so I ended up switching to water.
The atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was excellent. The prices were reasonable given the portion sizes. I can definitely see myself returning to try something different. The menu was quite unique, and I encourage you to check it out for yourself.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, and I had an excellent experience. The staff was wonderful—very friendly and welcoming. It's nice to discover a diner that is truly outstanding.
