Black Market Food Truck & Catering

I saw a FaceBook review about this place and then forgot about it - but when driving by last week I suddenly remembered about the Tempura Cauliflower. Wow they did not disappoint! We started with the aforementioned cauliflower and then had the tuna and fried chicken sandwich. Wow - tons of flavour in everything and I loved how you get more cauliflower with the tuna but they use a different sauce for that dish! The guys were really friendly and interested in our feedback of their food. We noticed a steady stream of people coming and going that looked like they were regulars on their lunch breaks from local businesses - that says a lot for a place with a fairly small menu! 5 stars we'll be bac...

Thank goodness these guys have a relatively short menu of choices because even then I wanted to try one of everything! The polenta fries and Korean sandwich that we settled on did not disappoint.The combinations of flavours are inspired and are reflective of a chef with a great palate, a creative talent, the finesse to balance everything and the boldness to prep and serve it from a food truck.Service was excellent, prices are very fair and food was prompt but fresh. Never have I been happier to dine in a parking lot -:)I'm so excited to have discovered Black Market food truck, it utterly deserves the rave reviews being heard locally and I hope they have all the success they deserve!

I no longer live in Courtenay but the food these guys cook up make me wish I did! My family member had the pasta on the menu (which was also awesome) and I had the Korean fried chicken sandwich and it was by far the best chicken I've ever eaten. What makes this place even better is that not only do they have incredible food but the brothers who run the food truck are extremely friendly, cool people who genuinely care about what you think of the food and the business as a whole. The next time I am in the valley I will definitely be coming back!

My sister took me here twice while I was visiting the Valley. The first visit was a burger and cauliflower fries (so delicious.) The next visit we took more family with us. We called ahead and placed our order (this truck is getting very busy.) This time we had the burger with polenta fries (OMG - they were delicious also! :) Reserva una mesa ahora

Hubby and I had the burger, and for all you locals my husband says it could give the combo deluxe (you all know the place) a definite run for top spot. The burger is huge and and so full of flavour, worth every penny. Great location, look forward to many visits to this great addition to the Valley.

Loving the flavors and freshness of the food. Great idea on changing menu due to what's available in the valley. The owners of the establishment have great customer service and spend time explaining what they are serving. Totally worth checking out.

The Tuna! It's what you'd expect at an high-end restaurant. Gourmet quality food…. from a truck! In a parking lot! It doesn't matter where he cooks, Mr. Purden is a chef extaordiaire! Now I have to try everything on the menu!

Just tried the korean fried chicken sandwich ( more like a burger, really)and it was amazing. Juicy, saucy, tender, crunchy, everything you have ever imagined wanting in a sandwich. Can't wait to try the other few menu items. Reserva una mesa ahora

It was my first time at this food truck. The burger was excellent. The service was very good. They will see me again. A . It is the best burger in town

Chicken Sandwich was amazing! I have even started a little savings fund so I can eat there at least once a week.
