We came here for dinner last night and wished we hadn’t to be honest. We ordered a cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, hot dog, two fries and an onion rings. We had two vanilla shakes and a glass of wine. It came to £40 which is expensive but we went with it. However when it arrived it was the worst burgers I’ve ever had. I actually feel offended calling them burgers. They were the thinnest, most pathetic, tasteless bits of brown rubber. The hot dog (although made wrong with a big squirt of Alioli up the middle was awful too. Thankfully they replaced that for my wee boy. Slightly disappointed by the misleading advertising displayed on Instagram advertising a Sunday Steal for £7 which states you can get ANY burger, fries and drink of your choice . The advert also has a picture of a double cheeseburger, fries and a milkshake. I went to order exactly this and was told that only 2 of the burgers on the menu were included in this deal and it was soft drinks only. I still had the food and it was satisfactory and still thought it was decent value for money, but was left slightly aggrieved from my trip to get this deal due to the misleading ad.
I think it was telling that this place was empty when town was full to bursting. Place was staffed by young students, no obvious manager/ anyone directing the work, had a really chaotic feel. Food was mediocre, staff were disinterested bordering on rude. It was quite cheap, but still resented the cost as the experience was poor. Oh and ps. Don’t ask for gherkins, you won’t discern them , they are diced to a fine paste and you are allowed 1 tsp worth, pointless.
Food for all types of eater that tastes great. Staff are very good, polite and helpful, and go a long way to make it a nice little place to eat in. The 'single ' toilet when we were in at lunchtime left a bit to be desired, and I 'm sure that a few customers may have made mention of this to staff. But for the toilet needing more attention, it would have got 5 stars as everything else is so so good

Ordered Billy Goats Gruff Wrap. One of the best wraps I have ever had. Wrap thin and lightly toasted and goats cheese just right strength, not overpowering. Staff friendly and fast service. Will definitely come back next time when back in town with my husband.
Visited this restaurant for lunch. It is small, and different. The food and in particular the burgers were some of the best we have ever tasted. Sadly we live hundreds of miles away, or else we would be regular customers.
Blackhorn is a must when I am in St. Andrews. My favorite and go to item is the double blackhorn burger with chips. It’s so satisfying and will bring me back every time. Keep it up!
