Blackwood Ridge Cafe & Larder

We had booked into this restaurant a few weeks ago, but when the day came, the owner had to close as the storm damage in this part of Victoria was such that we couldn't have driven there. We happily rebooked for the next day, which...was our actual Anniversary, and arrived to discover that we were the only lunch guests. We felt very honoured grateful sat by the window enjoying the lake, garden nursery. The menu is 4-courses with multiple choices we were both able to choose very yummy courses. The wine list was extensive we chose a beautiful bottle of sparkling shiraz from Heathcote. We couldn't fault our meals, but my only comment would be that I would have enjoyed a fish or seafood option a...

We had previously visited in Winter had a wonderful experience, so it was lovely to return with a friend and enjoy the Spring menu, which is 4 courses for $89 plus drinks. Vegetarians gluten-free diners are catered for all dishes are beautifully...presented by the very friendly staff. This is a small, boutique restaurant, with a special ambience as it is part of a nursery and there are views from every table. We particularly enjoyed watching the very friendly kookaburra looking for snacks. We'll be back.

as a native I am regularly in caffe and larder. I feel so grateful that I have this fantastic location close to. eating is fresh, tasty and inventive. the wee are carefully selected and the atmosphere is light and airy, with a beautiful view of their garden and damm. I am also really impressed by the sustainable design of the building. it is a great place to have a long lunch.

we chose this boutique restaurant to celebrate a birthday with great eating wine, were not disappointed. the autumn menu was a joy, especially the blue eye that was cooked to perfection. there is something for everyone on the menu meat lover, vegetarian. pescatarians. it rained gently what we could see from the glass walls when we looked at the crimson garden. four course set menu with wonderful fresh ingredients from the kitchen garden surrounding the restaurant. the lamb was cooked to perfection and the aromen were amazing. topped by with dessert beautifully presented. the attentive service of our waitress made great suggestions for our wein.

We had the 4 course menu for $79 Servings were very small but the food was beautiful although Duck was bland and same opinion from people near us. Setting was perfect and staff terrific but just wonder if set menu should be 3 courses same...price but bigger servings.

great experience for a birthday party on Sunday. picturesque against the lake. the ambiente was good, eating was excellent, and the service was war and friendly. loved the hapuka with mush and the beautiful light as a spring clafoutis.
