Blauenstein – Restaurant. Cafe. Bar

The menu is based on the Austrian kitchen, but with a modern twist. Beef tartar with curry majonese and washabi butter was a perfect starter: a small but very delicious dish with a fusion of different tastes in a good balance. The dishes are light, delicious and beautifully served. Really tasty. The service is friendly and prompt. The wine list naturally has emphasis on local Wachau wines. Many of them available in the glass. If you select the gourmet menu, you can add to that a selection of matching wines by the glass. The restaurant has an outdoor terrace with a view on the Danube. Good ambiance, light and modern decor. Very good value for the money.

Blauenstein offers really good food, laid-back ambience, exceptional value for money. Very rarely do you have set menus where all the courses are brilliant but here they were: a good balance between dishes (fish, vegetables, meat, sweet) and not least with each of the dishes themselves. And the accompanying wines were right-on too. Plus of course friendly and attentive service from the owners. A place not to miss!

Auf Grund der Lage sind die (Betreiber) nicht angewiesen, herzlich zu Ihren Gästen zu sein....eher Abfertigungs-Maßnahme, schade um das gute Essen in so einer Atmosphäre!Wir haben dann auf das Dessert verzichtet und wollten nur noch weg.

Wir sind mit dem Katamaran unterwegs nach Wien und haben das Restaurant spontan ausgewählt. Liegt direkt an der Donau. Service, Essen, Ambiente... Perfekt.
