Went back to Blu Bistro after a bit of a hiatus of a year or so hoping it may have improved from our last visit that wasn't so great. unfortunately it was nothing special again this time. The menu is a bit uninspiring with basic...pub bistro style food ie Steaks,burgers , chicken schnitzel and basic pasta. 4 of our group had steaks and all commented they were a little on the gristly side they were cooked ok but not the best quality meat. One person had rissoles and salad with gravy and didn't enjoy it at all ..I was lucky and had the beer battered Hoki which was delicious and the best meal of the night. another had schnitzel and veggies the chicken was ok but the vegetables were lifeless and...
I dined at this restaurant last night with a large group and I must say I was very impressed with the front-of-house staff. Despite a long line to order and a bustling restaurant, they were extremely polite and apologized for any delays. There was one man who was quite rude at the bar, where the drinks are served, but the young lady who served him was very polite and remained cheerful despite his behavior. Our group ordered about 15 meals and they all arrived together, all correct and delicious. Thank you once again, we will definitely be back for another family gathering.
Visited our local bowls club after the kind offer of a free 2 for 1 meal and free drink for my birthday I always have a steak which is great but decided to try the veal with potatoes this was the dearest meal so we paid $28 the two pieces of veal were only one mouth full each with more veal for the price it would have been a fantastic dish they are not usually that stingy very very very disappointing especially for a birthday bash or may be thats why?
This place has an extensive menu and wine list or you can enjoy an icy cold beer. The daily roast is hard to go past available in two sizes, I had the large and it was most enjoyable. The kitchen is al a carte but there are always a bunch of specials like the lovely pork chops. Prices are very reasonable most affordable. Pop in, you'll love it, I did.

The roast is always good but the price is getting up there for a club bistro meal. The themed meals .. American Ribs, Mexicana, Pasta are hit or miss ... the $10 pizza or pasta is probably the best for price and consistent quality.
Had a roast dinner that was only now issued in one size, a lot of food on a small plate This used to be great value for a club dinner but recent experience would suggest that recent changes have not maintained the standard
Wow what a meal . We had the roast of the day and couldn't finish it. Top veggies , gravy and loads of meat . The beef was cooked just perfect. Thanks guys it was a great night , we will be back, cheers
All was good....Easy to find...Plenty of room....Good service...Food was quick and nicely presented. All good until a black hair was in hubby's chips!!! Very apologetic staff!! But wear hats cooks!!!

Had great Mexican food on Friday night, loaded plates so tasty !!We will be back to try out another special menu night.
Excellent rump steak and chips and salad. Could not fault. Have never had a bad meal at Club Helensvale
