Blue Agave - Reservar una mesa

There is a mini war being waged in my hometown of Yorba Linda. It involves two restaurants that do not even serve the same kind of food, but the battle lines have been drawn. In the, Land of Gracious Living , you are either a Blue Agave person or you enjoy Esther 's Taco House. I can remember watching the KTLA Morning News when Yorba Linda resident and weatherman, Henry DiCarlo asked former Yorba Linda dweller, Audrina Patridge, Esther 's Taco House or Blue Agave? Her answer was Blue Agave, but Henry said that he was more of an Esther 's fan, so the debate rages on. My family has always been on the side of Audrina. We have always gone to Blue Agave, and basically ignored Esther 's. This might be due to the location of Blue Agave, and its closer proximity to our house. No. 1 Carnitas. These are hands down the best carnitas I have ever had. They aren't the grease soaked version either. These are marinated for a lengthy amount of time in citrus juices and something else that makes them heavenly. The prices are right on! For basically $8 or $9 you get a huge plate of carnitas with rice and beans (quality rice and beans, I might add). They have a full bar with some good drinks away from the restaurant area which is the set-up I prefer. Owners are really nice and always aim to please. I had them cater an event for me and everyone was very impressed. Quality food.

BEST Deep Fried Ice Cream. Blue Agave's food is good, but their Deep Fried Ice Cream is the absolute BEST I have had at any restaurant! In addition to the usual chocolate chip ice cream covered with a crunchy coating and served in a cinnamon tostada-style shell, this version is topped with seasonal fresh fruit, whipped cream, raspberry sauce, powdered sugar, and a sprig of mint! AMAZING!!! Should be shared as it's big enough for at least two people.

There is so much to like about Blue Agave! Good prices, excellent food and friendly service. A north-eastern district has to try.
