I booked Blue Mountain Yard on Saturday 7th May as a treat for mums birthday based on the fact that when visiting previously I had a wonderful experience, this was NOT the case this time around. We arrived about 10 minutes after the reserved time (couldn’t find parking), once seated we only took about 10minutes to decide on what we wanted to order. It was approximately 14:20. We were excited to try out this restaurant after seeing it during our first visit to Rushden Lakes. We made a reservation through OpenTable, but upon arrival, there was no one at the door. After finally finding someone, they seemed confused about our reservation. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, it took over an hour for our food to arrive, making the wait feel even longer with a 4-year-old and a 6-month-old. The food was amazing !! This is the first time I have taken my children out to eat and had cleared plates. The curry was divine!!!!! We had a not so good meal out somewhere else the week before and were really disappointed so I can honestly say this was fantastic, we were so impressed. The ?manager/owner can’t do enough to make sure you get what you need, my children can be fussy and one is autistic, nothing is too much trouble even if it’s not on the menu that night. Booked for a birthday meal, unfortunately we didn't stay. After reading some great reviews about Djs cocktails great food this place was a let down no Dj, Staff was not very welcoming, food menu was different to the online menu. £20 cocktail deal you can only have if everyone on your table has it (one of us don't drink) so meant none of us could have it. I can't judge the food as we didn't stay to eat.

I had visited this restaurant before and was disappointed this time. I had to order my food at the counter by weight, fetch my own bottle of coke from the fridge, and open it myself. The food was good, but overall the experience was not enjoyable. I had recommended this place to my friend based on my previous visit, but unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations.
There is nowhere we have visited that is quite like Blue Mountain Yard. The service is friendly and genuine, with a mother and son team creating a lovely environment for their guests. The food is cooked fresh and to authentic recipes and on a sunday the value of the £15 plate cannot be beaten.
The food was average. Went for the buffet which was a bad choice. The ribs had lots of fat grizzle no meat. The best but was the rice peas. The wine was very over priced for what it was. Service only saw one waitress who bought the food.
We went for my daughter's 18th. She has has always loved this place, but really wanted to try the cocktails. We had the buffet and some great cocktails and had a wonderful time. Loved it

It took half hr for drinks, staff what staff!!! No music, closed kitchen 9! Didn't eat because we looked other peoples food looked dry, no presentation
We ordered the chef's tasting menu and the food kept coming, all served hot. We really enjoyed the experience.
