After we made four unsuccessful calls to reserve a table this afternoon, we drove up without a reservation. At 5:15 p.m. we were blocked at the door by the waitress like two school children. Everything is documented. no greetings, no, immediately asked about the reservation. The restaurant was empty, a car in the yard, an older couple eating. With so much “warmth” we thankfully decided not to have a drink in the self-service area and went straight to the Restaurant Kreuz in Egerkingen. Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and escorted to the table. Beautiful mountain restaurant with a very idyllic, beautifully landscaped garden, large garden terrace, great view of the whole Gäu, “chalet-like” interior with lots of wood and cozy tables. Very harmonious. Tasteful interior decoration, some of which is also for sale (barn for Gänggele and: excellent food!! great, seasonal game menu and large selection of hearty menus....very nicely prepared and very attentive, friendly service!!
We had an excellent lunch (including giant Wienerschnitzel! , extremely attentive and friendly service, beautiful garden restaurant with a great view. We'd love to come back, thank you to the whole team!
Best outdoor dining of all my visits to Switzerland! Food and wine pairings were wonderful. Service was perfect! OssoBuco and Chocolate Lava Cake was top notch.

Way up on the alm .. after a 5k drive on a private mountain road .. a fairytale type chalet ..with a great variety of dishes and personal and kind service...
A very nice restaurant and the food is excellent. I can only recommend desserts. We had a lovely day Spent, many thanks to the host couple and staff.
