I was having lunch with my husband today, and we decided to eat here. How we are regretting that dodgy decision! . I ordered poached eggs on toast with bacon. I asked for.soft eggs, as I really don't enjoy eggs cooked any way other than really soft. I was assured theyde be soft. My husband ordered burger and chips. Our lunch arrived. If I had dropped the eggs onto the floor, they would have bounced back up. So I returned them. They came back around 10 minutes later. They were slightly softer than before, so I settled for them. We visited here on the jubilee weekend with my two daughters. It was obviously busy and even in the queue I wasn't sure but my daughter wanted to stay. The guy at the till was not listening to our order and started to ring it up before even asking me if I wanted anything. Every table was filthy with plates and food. We moved stuff to another table to sit down but even on the floor was an assortment of food, napkins and condiments packets. I had to remind a server three times would they please wipe down the table, which only happened when the food was brought, insuing in a juggle of plates of food and table cleaning. I visited this restaurant this morning and had coffee and cake, which were fine. However, I was surprised to find that the toilets were located next door in the Menarys shop, upstairs. You need to get a code from the staff to open the toilet door, and the keypad is small and difficult to read. When I finally managed to get the door open, I found that the toilet was not flushing, there was no toilet paper, and the facilities were in a disgusting condition. The other toilet was in the same state. When I complained to a young male staff member, he showed no concern and suggested I take the issue up with Menarys. Visited on a quick call for a coffee and tea take away . Give my order and the girl said be few minutes. Proceeded to sit down and wait and wait and wait while the girl who took my order refilled something . I waited 10 mins and then went back up to till while she was serving someone else who since came in . I said my order she said u order here to which I replied i did 10 mins ago !!! I then sat down again and watched her mouth the a fella who was working who then took a great stare at me !! Totally shocking customer service needless to say I won’t be back !!! Expensive for what you get coffee left an aftertaste. We were not sure whether the varnish on the tables was meant to be 'stressed ' we found it a bit sticky and wondered if it harboured germs! Toilets had no paper or soap : C Staff very busy, some left us feeling we were imposing on them: while one girl was friendly and helpful unfortunately a male employee was quite curt and not helpful. Do not feel encouraged to return or recommend to others. Overall we were quite disappointed.
I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I had to wait for a table to be cleaned before I could sit down and enjoy my coffee. I also saw an elderly man sit down at a table that was still dirty. The staff simply left the dirty dishes and told him where to find his cutlery. The service was slow and lacking, and the furniture was in bad shape. The coffee was not good either. Overall, there wasn't much to recommend about this place.
I visited the restaurant on a Saturday at noon, hoping to avoid the lunchtime crowd. It turned out to be a disaster! We waited 45 minutes for just three bowls of soup. Fortunately, we weren't looking for a full meal. We eventually lost hope and asked for a refund, which the manager promptly gave without much of an apology. I won't be returning to this restaurant.
Called in here for some lunch. Ordered 2 paninis and chips, coffee and a soft drink. Came close to £18. Unfortunately the panini was very dry and not particularly nice., also after eating them we noticed they were not as described. I think we will try other cafes in the town and give Bob Berts a miss.

Young lady shouts across counter. Kitchen will be 30 minutes. I would just like coffee and drinks for the kids. Shrug. Another customer pushes in and get served. I’m invisible. So patience. After being invisible for 5 minutes. Decide to leave. Really bad service. Can’t comment on food.
Attended recently with a friend at this local cafe. I ordered the all day advocate smash breakfast, which was delivered to me by pleasant and helpful staff. The dish was very tasty.
