Estábamos de visita en este lugar al que viajamos desde Marbella a Istán. La vista de los valles y lagos era absolutamente impresionante. Como era de esperar en esta época del año, no era precisamente cálido, sino un poco lluvioso. Después de llegar a este pequeño pueblo en la colina, teníamos un poco de hambre y decidimos comer en este bar/restaurante llamado Bar Bodega Sudamérica. Es un lugar muy pequeño que ofrece comida casera, hoy era conejo salvaje con arroz; decir que fue maravilloso es quedarse corto, era fabuloso, sabroso con un poco de picante de algunas especias, y la cantidad para dos personas era increíble. ¡No puedo recomendarlo lo suficiente!

Stopped of in Istan on the way to some mountain walking and sat in the square to enjoy our breakfast. Must say lovely breakfast and coffee from this Bodega and its spotlessly clean but Piccadilly circus would have been less busy. The town square is...also a traffic thoroughfare with some pretty narrow and tight exits. Having vans reversing right up to your chair so as to make a tight right hand turn is not for the faint hearted. Great for people and car/van watching. Some great local specialities on the menu so highly recommended. Just sit against the wall.

Comer en el centro de este pueblo es muy interesante, se puede ver a los locales navegando su transporte arriba y abajo de los callejones imposiblemente estrechos. Los platillos interesantes quizás necesiten ser ordenados con anticipación, el cabrito asado es divino, los platillos de pescado y arroz son excepcionales, especialmente... los caldosos (arroz caldosos). Los vinos son económicos y el servicio por parte del dueño es genial como era de esperarse. Así que adelante, ordena el cochinillo o el cabrito asado, realmente vale la pena.

This cafe is right in the hub of the town in the square. Although it took over 20 minutes for us to be actually served the food and coffees were good. Best of all was the location. Great for people watching and getting a sense...of the town culture. A local fish van arrived selling directly to women from the town who stood in their groups catching up with one another children playing in the streets. Older people chatting and watching everything and everyone else. Very friendly town. Reserva una mesa ahora

This very traditional family run restaurant enjoys a prime spot in the main square of the picturesque white mountain village of Istan. It offers seating inside and out and is a focal point for locals and tourists alike. Good choice of tapas and main courses...all freshly prepared and of good quality . Not at all fancy but well worth a visit.

el arroz con huh es tan delicioso. visitamos este restaurante hoy con el jose en nuestro emountain tour en bicicleta hoy. lo personal era amable y nos servía el arroz caldoso con pollo más fresco completamente recomendar. La cerveza también era bastante buena.

This is more for the locals but we eat/drank in here a couple of times. It is a bit basic but good. You can get meals at times but sometimes just tapas. It has inside and outside seating in the square

We had a choice of either spring lamb or entrecote steak from the day's specials and all chose the lamb; thin chops, cooked simply and good to eat off the bone with fingers. With chips. Reserva una mesa ahora

el bar bodega se encuentra en la plaza de la ciudad y ofrece comidas buscadas, un muy buen valor y muy sabroso. el dueño es un hombre real, nada fue demasiado molesto

Bar muy español. Probé conejo con arroz, delicioso ambiente genial y servicio amigable. Excelente relación calidad-precio.
