Bringing groups from Australia to tour Europe is a great way of indulging one's own passion for finding fabulous places to eat and stay. In the days when we went on the road to discover such places, we could always depend on our eyes and taste buds to decide where to take a group to stay or to eat, but these days our exploration is usually done with a computer and some decent reference books. When our coach pulled up outside Bodegas Aspea, my heart was in my mouth, as the only reviews I'd read of the place were in Spanish, all pretty good, but mainly local people. I needn't have worried as it turned out, because Bodegas Aspea delivered a seven course menu with paired wines that was unbelieva...

There should be a special ranking for these kind of restaurants, the ones with closed menu, typical home-made food and kind personal service. But this one also enhance it with an amazing wine tasting while eating the dishes, up to 7 different wines! One always expect eating an excellent piece of meat (and you do) in these kind of places but the real surprise was the hake, really difficult to find good quality and well cooked fish nowadays. This is one of the few and special places you happily remember.

Take the time to experience true northern Spainish hospitality! What a find........... if you are in the area and you are not a vegan/vegetarian or T total then you really must visit this wonderful place! It is a set menu which is wonderful, check out the website for details

Lovely family restaurant very cosy fantastic wine and delicious food. We had a brilliant time. Very friendly and good atmosphere. We met a niece couple of friends Thanks for your service it was just perfect.
