The story of a humble family who decided to go pro on wine production after getting good feedback from friends and neighbours. Such a moving story but also, very surprising to see them thrive and manage to make several wines -in a traditionally non wine region- that taste really good and put up a good fight (both in quality and in price) to the Spanish northern heavyweights. White Calvente and Castillejo were my favourites with Lovelia a close third. You'll find comments below giving bad ratings to them, such a pity that people can randomly post nonsense and get away with it. We have with great pleasure visited Calvente Winery for wine tasting, together with our family and friends several times. Their wine is fantastic and even listed in the book The 1001 Wines You must taste before you die by Neil Beckett ... ! The tours are very educational as they explain the processes used for their different wines, and always a very personal experience The best wine tastings ever! Quizás, en la actualidad, la bodega más completa de Granada y la costa mediterránea de Almería, Granada y Málaga. Espectacular es su Calvente blanco de uvas Moscatel del pago de la Guindalera, fresco, sabroso, afrutado, sin duda tropical, al igual que su procedencia. Entre sus tintos, el Castillejos enamora, carnoso con suaves notas de vainilla y caramelo. Horacio Calvente selecciona y cuida sus elaboraciones creando una gama de blancos, rosados, tintos y espumosos que sorprenden.
A visit to Bodegas Calvente is highly recommended. Although the Bodega itself is not pretty in the middle of the small Spanish town of Jete, the vines are incredibly good, and the tour is well organized and conducted. Don’t miss this if you are in the area. These mountain vines are really worth the trip.

Decepcionante, fuimos a probar y comprar un poco de vino, y no nos dejaron probar nada. No hubo explicaciones sobre los vinos, no había nada para ver... no vale la pena ir.
Locale wijnboer met eigen wijnproductie en eigen bodega. Zonder enige twijfel topwijnen voor, voor ons als Belgen, ongekende democratische prijzen.
Hemos probado diferentes vinos y nos encantaron. Atendidos por los propietarios, los vinos son excelentes y la experiencia es espectacular.
