Recommended to try this place by our hotel (Royal an Lochan and certainly not disappointed!! It’s in Millhouse, only 2 miles from Tighnabruaich, but keep your eyes peeled for the signs or you could miss it. An old barn (clue is in the name beautifully and tastefully converted with helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Food, well how do I describe it best? Unique, tasty, exceptional. We had prosciutto and damson jam, and haggis and black pudding fritters with homemade piccalilli as starters both were exceptional. My wife skipped the main in order to fit in a dessert but I had aged rump steak from Isle of Bute and it was perfectly cooked in butter (yum! with fried onions, broccoli and truffle chips. Not quite sure how they were truffled, but suffice to say they were a taste sensation! I usually salt my chips but, on the advice of chef Michael, left off the salt and they were just perfect. Pudding was a plum, apple, pear and chocolate pudding with raspberry ice cream, not a bit was left. Delicious. Reasonably priced and if we were back this way would definitely return. Thank you!!
