We did a great hike from the Unternberg cable station to the Brandner Alm. We took the upper path, but there is still the lower path to the Brandner Alm. The upper path first runs along a wide forest path and then runs along a natural footpath. The path should not be underestimated and is not recommended in wet weather as it runs over many roots, rocks and muddy areas. The path leads past small streams and you always have a wonderful view. The Alm is rustic and beautiful, but can be a bit crowded at lunchtime. It's nice to sit outside, the service was good and your physical well-being is well taken care of. We walked back the same way. The climb was tough for us for the first 50 minutes, (untrained) then it goes again. The signage (on the way there) is a bit confusing at times! The signs said three times that the route would still take an hour, even though we had actually already walked another 15 minutes.... Conclusion: Although we didn't want to hike that long and there was a cold wind blowing at times, we didn't regret it. Absolutely recommended
