Having been 'breakfast 'customers for approximately 15 years prior to COVID, we visited this brasserie again. Although the name and the interior had changed we were pleased that the establishment had not had a change of proprietor. Having ordered our petit dejeuner we were disappointed. Our opinion, compared to our previous visits, was that the bread was hard, the croissants on the overcooked to burnt side. The small mini Bon Maman jam and the two pieces of butter were insufficient. We visited on a busy Saturday afternoon-market day! We decided to eat here and ate all glad we did. We all had different mains, lamb shank, croque Madame, chicken from the kids menu and I had the confit canard. We all really enjoyed our food. For dessert we had a sundae and profiteroles which we so good. All the food arrived soon after ordering and was nice and hot. Service was brilliant. All the waiting staff are very friendly, speaking perfect english and are happy to help when you try to muddle through in French. We would definitely return should be be fortunate enough to visit Sarlat again.

A good place for a casual meal in the main square. Husband got the 3-course menu, which was foie gras salad, duck breast, and walnut cake. I had tagliatelle with salmon and shrimp bits and then got crème brûlée for dessert. We also tried a glass of the local walnut wine, which was sweet and tasty. It had been a rainy and chilly day and we sat at a table that was kind of halfway in and halfway out, so it was chilly and I wished I’d worn my fleece jacket, but it was okay.

Set in the middle section of the main old city square this was ideal for a opposite. The varied meats starter followed by an excellent cheese omelette on a very hot evening was perfect when accompanies by a good pichet of rose wine. and then a large cafe creme. Saturday evening dinner with the local band playing
