we were hungry and it was the wrong time to eat in france (we will get it right on a day typical French bar, eat all day available. lady behind the bar has brought us into the salon, has ordered drinks. service was fast, we ordered from the...Set menu €14. starter arrived and were ok. main course came, a piece dark grilled meat with crumble along with mixed watery obviously frozen lukewarm veg. the kartoffels looked promising, but no, they were out of the freezer and also warm and tasteless. pudding time my sister favorites ile flante (there was only one left, so I had chocolate mousse) yes they have guessed it frozen! still ice crystals in what we think was meringue. ok good points, nice ba...
there is not much in Doue-la-Fountaine and we went around and tried to find somewhere to lunch after visiting the nearby troglodytic sites. the place was quiet, good, at least inside. out there were a series of people obviously on their lunch break. there were many...heirs of the ship and the court of the day sounded good a beef stew when I remembered correctly. many workers at lunch had that. because it was a hot day, we ordered salate instead. my salad from duck-gun and ham was perfect good, and a beautiful apricot-tart dessert. the tart was also at home. great value, good food and a friendly waitress. what else to ask?
Unpleasant reception with reflection: everyone comes at the same time. It's 1:00, wasn't the time the guests normally arrive at the restaurant? the boss spends his time giving orders to the young waiter (before the client) who in the passage is of an out-of-class patience. it is submerged by the few tables that there is and allows undue reflections to customers. very bad experience shared with customers of other tables around. We have the right to smile when we pay.
Give this one a miss, it was the worst place we have ever eaten in, be it in the UK or any other country. I had the mussels and chips?? maybe that should have warned me, and they were truly disgusting, goodness only knows...what they were floating in, my husband had a very rubbery omelette again with chips, the only passable thing was the wine well they couldn't do much to that. big disappointment, we try to go into small businesses to let them live, but experience how these we want to make to chain instead. kaffeebof, tee is a bag so it's okay. but the rest is a frightened, roasted brot with a strong mold taste, brioche from a week before grilled so that not to smell rancid .. except that it is dry enough to thrott. butter with crumbs. the jam saw homemade and tasted good. I hope her passage will go better than ours.
little samantha was very nice. the muddles were good too bad, the pommes are frozen. the flank is a good ditto for the frits. croque monsieur is understated. with regard to the desserts, the tarte was good and the ice on the other side I was disappointed by the crème brûlée. they have the choice between starter, main course and dessert or main course and dessert and menu. very little wait for service.
the plat de jour had been described as roast chicken with chips. at the arrival, the plate floated in a yellow sauce and the chicken itself was just on the polite side of the frozen. my entrecotesteak was bad and the bleu sauce consisted of a piece of cheese that was melted in milk.
