Brasserie la Renaissance

This restaurant in the high street of a south Lyon suburb looks like a typical quality brasserie, and indeed it is, with the usual salads, steaks and fish on the menu, but it has a speciality pizza menu too. The takeaway window onto the street is quite a sight, piled high with the most gigantic pizza boxes you have ever seen, and it takes two people to carry one away! The pizzas on the eat-in menu are thankfully smaller, and very tasty. I had one with creme fraiche, mushrooms and melted roquefort which was utterly delicious, while my companion had one called Ocean, with seafood, naturally. Good cuisine.. varied menu.. good value for money. Very nice home. Best tartare in the region!! Dish of the day always excellent. In season oysters jobs.. excellent wines and Champagne etc.... I recommend
