This lovely restaurant was an easy walk from the train station. I selected the plat de jour and the meat was moist and tasty, the vegetables were done well and the salad was very fresh. For dessert I chose something a bread pudding (per waiter translation) that looked and tasted like a piece of French toast with a salted caramel sauce and ice cream. I could have made an entire meal of it! The waiter was attentive but too much so, the service was very prompt and the restaurant was immaculate. The price for the meal was very reasonable - 14 euros.
It seems to me it is not any easy to find a restaurant that is something else than Italian (no problem with Italian food). This one is French. Pretty large inside. Happy they offer oysters and some other see food as well as some Savoyard specialties. The wine list is pretty large too. Sure it is not the cheapest one. But what is cheap in France?The service was excellent, no problem with English (well with some waiters). It is always fun to try to use that little of French I can remember.
We travel often to Chambery for business and O400 is one of the places we always visit - it is centrally located, has consistently good food, is open on days when others aren't (Sunday night, for example). Their oysters are always fresh and flavorful, and the rest of the menu has something for everyone (tartare, Savoy favorites like raclette, beef, fish, pasta).
I have to say that the quality of the food was not so good. Heavy and the meat main dishes was disgusting to me. It was a meat skewer with a good look but bad test. About cleaning I have to give another bad feed back. My personal opinion is that there isn't a real boss in the restaurant and so never real internal audit is made. Thanks

Ok, we check on Trip Advisor for a good restaurant on long trip by car. I took meat skewer (spiedino di carne) and quality of the meat was really bed . The sauce was quite bad. And the water served in a anonymous bottle... so the general feeling of quality was low and the waiter not so professional but anyway very kind.
Have been in that place one wek ago. Personnel is professional and smiling. Menu is not long but dishes are well served, quite quick and somehow followed. Wine list not long but you can find your marriage with the proposed dishes. I'll be back there.
Le Z is an upmarket restaurant in this rather strange capital city of Savoie. It offers a good variety of dishes, fit for everyone. For lunch they have a daily special which always seems to please. Good restaurant for all occasions.
It was one of the few places open for dinner on Sunday, and not a bad option. Wasn't the French experience one wants, but the food was good, service also respectable, and priced reasonably.
