It's difficult to get bad food in the Languedoc and Serignan and nearby villages dotted along the nearby Canal Du Midi offer great fayre. Your spoilt by choice. Thing is that the menu's tend to offer the same sort of dishes. Nothing to complain about necessarily but then again nothing to write home about either. Good food, in stunning locations, with typical French flare and god given sunshine, it's all good. The problem is that to stand out from the crowd you have to be very extra special. Our family enjoyed a really lovely lunch at the Saint Roch. This Braserrie in common with all nearby restaurants is good. It is one of many similar eateries locally set out because it does have a distinct Spanish feel. But the spanish food is clearly tweaked for the French palate because there not nearly as good as those just across the nearby border.

In town for market day, there's no shortage of local places to eat, most with a well priced menu du jour. This place looked good and the menu choices tempting. For under 15 euros a two course menu with two choices for each course, add 3 euros for dessert. We had soup de poisson for starters which was truly excellent, could have eaten it all day long! Mains we had either grilled sardines, as fresh as can be, the other had the escalope de veau Milanese, with pasta....light, tender and juicy - simple dish done well. A wine list of local wines we took a bottle of rose for 10 euros and it was very very nice.No room for dessert just a coffee. Portion sizes are more than enough. We'd go back and eat here anytime - Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our meal here. My husband's steak was done to perfection and his frites were the best we have tasted in a long time. Our 4 year old son had a clean plate after I was concerned he wouldn't eat his burger as it didn't come in a bun. My mussels were very tasty but the sauce was a bit too spicy for my liking. - my only complaint. We would however definitely return!

Many family members and friends have tried this restaurant to see for themselves, as the restaurant is busy in summer months, Everyone has had a similar experience poor or very poor food, empty mussel shells, Pasta with seafood not as described on the menu, overpriced wine and food. The clean white chairs and fancy sparklers in desserts do not win me or my family over.
