Soul Food Sunday is a popular tradition at Brazil's Family Restaurant in Cahokia Heights, IL. When I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The menu had all the classic soul food options, with the exception of Baked Chicken. All the dishes I tried were delicious, from the tender Greens to the mouthwatering Pork Steak. The Chicken Wings were also a standout. The Candied Yams were perfectly seasoned and not too sweet. For dessert, the Peach Cobbler was a hit. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes from their regular weekday menu. #stlmetrofoodie
The food was excellent. The tapioca appetizer had a distinct and unique blend of flavors. The traditional dishes were delicious, albeit probably made milder for the general palate. I don't usually order steak, but their steak plate with rice and beans was very satisfying. The Caipirinha was also very good. I will definitely return to try more items on the menu. Unfortunately, I was too full to try any dessert.
Our food was so delicious. I wish I had gotten pics. My husband and I had been trying to get here for a minute. I’m so glad we finally made it. All of our food was cooked to perfection and the people are super nice. I love god food in my community. The picture is the sweet potato pie. You have to get one. It’s soooooo good.
I highly recommend this restaurant for take-out dinner. The price per person ranges from $10 to $20, and the food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect 5-star rating. I would suggest trying all of their dishes as they are all delicious.
