We had tried unsuccessfully on a prior occasion to get a reservation at this popular new spot. We were eager to try it since reading about it in several publications. Having dined several times at Quatrifoil, the bar was set quite high as far as our expectation level went. It was a Friday evening, and as it was very busy on both dining levels it was quite a noisy but upbeat atmosphere. We were seated promptly, but waited an unacceptable amount of time for our server, who didn't seem too knowledgeable about gluten free options on the menu. In the end, there didn't seem to be many choices, which led to ordering the bratwurst which was served on a bed of cabbage and potatoes and didn't look muc...
My overall experience of this place was meh. We dinned upstairs which we liked. I thought it was cute that the floor was uneven by the window. The staff was nice enough to fit us in without a reservation.It seemed like the meal choices were minimal but then you would expect at least the first bite to be a mouthful of deliciousness. However the meal.....Was a cheap cut of steak for a New York Sirloin price and the salad was the best thing about the meal. Overall: The staff and ambiance was good. Keep in mind the place is popular so make a reservation.
After not being able to secure a babysitter, we made the risky decision of taking our 3yr old on "date night." And we were SO impressed! From the time we arrived, he staff went above and beyond to accommodate her. It was our best family dinner ever. We sat on the patio. Highly recommend the burger and vegetarian burger - but skip the side salad (yuck.) Delicious drink menu. We sampled with some beer flights and hubby had a delicious french press coffee while I had the best cosmopolitan I've EVER had. Definitely check this place out!
$90.00 for two draughts, a sausage and fish pie! Crazy expensive for what you are given. Taste was nice on the fish pie, but serving was TOO SMALL (with only a few cooked carrots on the side) for $26.00 The Bratwurst that my son had was UNDERCOOKED (cold) and he only ate it to be polite; at $22, too much! Great opportunity to try a wide selection of craft beers; most enjoyable. Dined up stairs. Appetizers (calamari and slow roasted ribs - fall off the bone excellence) started off the evening. The New Kids and the Block paired well with the MANITOULIN RAINBOW TROUT. As well, the schnitzel is a house favourite. Busy evening would recommend reservations.
Thoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner at Brux House. Restaurant is able to accomodate dietary restrictions (Gluten/dairy/egg) and will adapt many dishes. Went with friends on a visit to Canada as my husband is a big craft beer fan . He tried their taster flight which he really enjoyed. The food was good we had pork and my husband had fish pie . The staff are really friendly and happy to give advice. We would definitely go back if we return to Canada !
