Buck's Fishing Camping In Wash

Buck's is the kind of place every neighborhood deserves. Good to great food, great drinks, and the warmest atmosphere. Must have dishes are the carrot dip and the broccoli slaw. If there is any room for improvement, it's to tell the servers to engage more. The service is better than average, but it feels like they have been told to be as unintrusive as possible, and it seems to have leaned a little too far lately to what I'd best describe as shyness? It's a little weird. But make no mistake, Buck's gives you all the feelings that make you glad to go out to eat.

We arrived on a very busy Saturday night and were seated as soon as possible. The hostess kept us informed of the wait and updated throughout as we grabbed a drink at the bar. Our server could not have been more prompt and attentive while allowing for a leisurely meal and conversation. She made excellent suggestions and ensured all food arrived as ordered and in a timely manner. Our meals were delicious and the preparations novel without being over the top or distractingly complex. A great neighborhood find, we will most definitely return.

Food, as usual, was very good, but the service really bad. We were rushed to order drinks, then the server disappeared for 20 minutes. When she came back we placed drink and food orders. No bread was offered. Meal came out <5 minutes after appetizers arrived. The server then disappeared for the rest of the night. Gone. Another server, who was wonderful, finally got us a check after we waited for nearly 30 minutes for our original server to come back. Never saw her again.

Wow. A special night recreated from years ago. Such a disappointment. Appetizers great entrees awful steak had no flavor both who ordered agreed scallops so mediocre as was fish and chips hamburger also sub par. Apple crisps dessert was FANTASTIC . We very much appreciated the actions Buck’s took to remove tables and improve social distancing in the restaurant. We realize this has a very real cost to the establishment. But as patrons we appreciated the actions they took to mitigate risks.

Enjoyed the food, but the service was not especially attentive (yes, I would love another drink! . Conversation was difficult because of noise level and tables very close together.

Buck’s is our go-to date night restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious. Reservations recommended, as Buck’s is always packed.
