While the nigiri and rolls we ordered were fresh and tasted flavorful, there were multiple reasons I wouldn 't return. My biggest issue was with the nigiri, some places think that having larger, meatier cuts of fish will please the customers and this is definitely true for some people who view it as generous portions but it 's not authentic and it really ruins the textural experience. Instead of being light and delicates, the cuts were disproportionate to the rice and the large size made them chewy and difficult to be eaten properly. The head sushi chef didn 't seem to have any passion for his craft, he seemed irritated to have to be there and took no care in his slicing when preparing items...
My friends and I sort of stumbled upon this gem of a sushi restaurant when we found out Nobu was closed during the mid day hours. One of the workers there suggested it as a potential alternative to out sushi craving. I'm glad we decided to give it a try. The venue is fairly small so it is best to make reservations ahead of time. Fortunately reservations are a breeze thru Yelp online and I literally booked them as I was leaving Nobu. The outdoor patio seating was a little crammed but it was situated by a dock with a nice view. We saw fish jumping out of the water and it was fun looking at all the boats. The sushi at this restaurant was fantastic! We tried a unique dish called the Lollipop, which is part of their no-rice offerings. Each piece of the sushi roll was served on a stick, resembling a lollipop, and it was filled with various types of fish and crab, all wrapped in a cucumber layer and drizzled with wasabi. It was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before—absolutely amazing! I will definitely return to this place many times! We made a reservation, which I highly recommend, as the restaurant was quite busy. Another enjoyable feature of this establishment is its location right by the water in the marina. We were able to watch the boats come and go while savoring an incredible meal!
Hands down the best sushi I've had in the OC and by a mile. Amazing location right by the docks near Lido, extensive outside patio, fun vibe, super nice and attentive waitstaff, always on point, stellar service. Fresh fresh fresh fish, to die for rolls, impeccably well balanced, full of flavors (the baked crab hand roll is legendary), just an incredibly fun, quality, delicious sushi spot close to home. Prices are actually really reasonable for the quality you get. Hands down the best sushi spot in the OC, hidden gem, gonna be going back for more and more.

This restaurant offers not only amazing food and drinks, but also a dedicated staff that delivers outstanding service. From the owner to the servers and bussers, everyone truly cares about your experience and keeps you informed if things are hectic. I suggest making a reservation, as it tends to get quite busy. The atmosphere features a beachy, surf-inspired, and nautical theme. Situated right by the water, the setting is absolutely stunning! I highly recommend visiting here!
I'm from Colorado and every time im in the area I make sure to stop here for lunch or dinner. Reservations are a must (imho) and the food is always fresh and delicious. The staff are incredibly attentive and always check in with you. Also a great place to watch the ships go by.Food: 5/5
Was extremely disappointed for our anniversary dinner. Was seated at the worst possible table and received terrible service. An all around bad experience. Great to hear the 19 year olds fawning over the amazing California rolls while drinking their beersthough.
I think they can do better than this. You be the judge. CUSTOMER SERVICE was great. Value, quality, presentation needs improvement..1 roll that doesn't rival the grocery store sushi for $17. not including gratuity. HMMMMMMMM. First time there, great location.
