If you’re in the griechisches Viertel, there are two great Vietnamese restasurants, and one of them is Bun Pho: it’s a big echo-ey place that feels like it’s been parachuted in from Saigon. Lovely staff, who always make sure I have the hottest sauces and...condiments on my table whenever I go in there… You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu, but the Banh Cuon starter is exquisite. The food here isn’t particularly ‘eingedeutscht’, (toned down for the German palate) but you may want to order your stuff ‘vietnamesisch scharf’ if you like it hot ‘n’ spicy. Actually, on the wrong side of the new market (the masses draw it towards Schildergasse and Breite Straße) is this great Vietnamese restaurant tip. On the other hand, the restaurant should be attentive by the corresponding mouth propaganda of anyone who was once there! At least in our case. Despite the more reserved facility you sit very nice in the Bun Pho, which is also very friendly and nice service. The food tastes very delicious and has a very fresh quality. Cost-effective in terms of serving more than reasonable and fine selection of dishes. Cash payment is preferred, but card payment is possible. One of the best Vietnamese in Cologne. Clear recommendation!
We discovered this place without planning and we were so glad we did. The woman (I think she is the owner) was so nice and friendly, which is always a good bonus! But the kitchen was sooo good, we finished literally everything we ate and...everything was authentic and so incredibly flavourful. We had a tea, some summerolls, and two pho’s and those were huge. For the quality and portions, it’s very cheap! I reccomend this place and please just go and eat there!!
As Vietnamese natives we’re always looking for Vietnamese restaurants to try out. This one was pretty good. The starters bo la lot and nem cuon were €4,50 a plate and tasted pretty good. The pho bo was decent (not bad but not the best I’ve...ever had), my husband said the bun bo hue was very good. Overall a pleasant surprise!

After walking around all day we looked for somewhere to eat near our hotel (One Motel) and Bun Pho was very near and had positive reviews in TripAdvisor. (Thanks TA and participants) I can echo the positive comments from others; excellent service, friendly, authentic flavours,...and good value.
Came to Koln for a city trip and stopped by this little restaurant thats serves authentic Vietnamese food. The Pho was very savory and the salads perfectly seasoned, wished i had a restaurant like this back at home!
incredible delicious pho! the broth was extremely hot and the meat very, very good! it could have been broken in the broth. overall I am really so happy!
Especially recommended is the PhoBoTai. But the other bowl dishes are also great.
