My daughter and I were told from some medical professionals in town that this was a good place to eat. It was our last night in Bad Mergentheim, and we were excited to try this restaurant. It is connected to the Ringhotel Bundschu and the atmosphere was good. We were greeted by Ralf at the entrance to the restaurant. As soon as we greeted him in English he immediately told us there were no available tables for us tonight. I asked if we could put our name on a waiting list and he proceeded to tell us how busy the restaurant was and even the patio was busy and there was no room for us there either. It was a Friday night around 8:00 p.m. and while there were people mingling and eating, we could see it wasn’t bursting and didn't think it was that full. The whole time while he was saying these things he had this smirk on his face and we thought he was joking around with us. So I mentioned, "The way you are smirking at us I cannot tell if you are being serious or not." He then replied, "I am being so serious we are full." I then asked if he was from here and if he could recommend another place? My daughter laughed and said, “Of course he's from here mom, look at his name tag!" It read Ralf Bundschu! I said, "Oh you own this place. Ok, it is our last night in town so could you recommend another place for dinner?” He flatly replied, "No." I was a little miffed now and said, "You are from here and yet you cannot recommend another restaurant for us?" Again he said, no he could not. A few employees started gathering around to watch this entire weird scene. So we just simply proceeded to walk away and then he had the audacity to shout after us to come back again! In which I replied, "We most certainly will not!"
A local freind brought us here and what a suprise. Great service and great food. The schnitzle was light and tasty, the steak was very good and all the sides were just right. The hotel attached seems very modern, and the restaurant mixes modern and classic just right. I'd like to come back and try other items.
