we keep going back because the place is wonderful. the food is great, the wait staff is on top of their game. the atmosphere is fun, the owner /chef walks around and talks to the diners and gets feed back. Great wine list and great food whether you want Italian or a great steak or seafood. A real treasure in the NW Twin Cities. Portions are generally on the large side and the price is very reasonable. When you get out of the city you have so fewer taxes (and they do add up). He keeps the prices down as his base of customers are from the Champlain/Osseo/ Maple Grove area and they support the place. It is worth a drive to eat this quality of food and enjoy wines, you may not find anywhere else...
The food was delicious! I'm Italian. So here is my take.... Food. Flavorful. Robust. The noodles perfectly rendered. Not too soft and mushy. Not too hard. Aldente or however you spell that. Calabrese sauce was great. Spices... very good. Sauce... could be a bit thicker but I didn't necessarily care much because of the awesome flavor. Salad served perfectly chilled. Not room temperature. Not wilted. Crisp and perfect. Breads. Fresh and delicious. Server. Very attentive. Cute little establishment with surprising room to seat everyone. Not exactly enough parking spaces outside. Wonderful spot that I will most definitely come back to.
We celebrated my birthday with family (party of 15). We truly felt as if we were in Europe. The atmosphere was great!The owner came out to greet us and he is amazing, genuine and made us feel like family. This restaurant is a hidden treasure! Stacy was great every recommendation she made was delicious! The halibut was superb! Lamb racks melted in your mouth. The food and atmosphere was truly an authentic great experience! Kid-friendliness: Kid meals available that are not listed on the menu.
This is a great spot for authentic Italian cuisine. The food is fantastic. The owner/chef walks around to the tables to check in on guests (something you just don't see very often these days).My only criticism is that, due to how busy and small the restaurant is, prepare to be waiting around past your reservation time (15 minutes in my experience) and also prepare for tight quarters. The food was great, waitress was nice. Whatever service they use for reservations told me our table was ready. When I arrived the parking lot was so tiny there were no parking spaces left. We also waited 45 minutes to get seated. The only reason I waited is because I wanted to try the food. I would only come back for take out and enjoy the food and a glass of wine at home.
Great little restaurant where we took my 92 year old mother for early Mothers Day dinner. Waitress was fantastic, food was excellent. The only negative is that $15 a glass of house red is pretty extreme. It seems like drinks break the budget at most restaurants these days.
