Today, I decided to give it another shot. The start was slightly better; I was able to get some coffee, but it took several minutes to receive cream. The waiter kept making multiple trips, bringing one item at a time rather than making fewer trips and being more efficient. At that moment, there was only one other occupied table, yet he seemed disorganized and a bit frazzled. My coffee arrived lukewarm and wasn't particularly good.

When we received our handwritten receipt, they tried to overcharge us; the prices on the menu and the receipt didn't match. I asked to see the menu again, and it had a different price listed. The entire interaction felt argumentative.

I ordered Shrimp and Grits, and for my son, I ordered a 2x2x2. Unfortunately, everything was bland— it tasted as if the shrimp were just boiled, placed on the grits, and smothered in gravy. My son received only one egg instead of the two we ordered, and although the eggs were supposed to be scrambled with cheese, there was none, despite my paying an extra dollar for it. The pancakes were a mess; they crumbled as soon as we tried to touch them and seemed to be made from cornmeal. To make matters worse, my pancake was undercooked in the center. Overall, I won’t be returning.
Absolutely worth the wait! Everyone here is friendly and makes you feel right at home. It's a family-run business, and they really make you feel like part of the family. The portions are generous—there’s definitely enough to take some home with you. Everything is served hot and fresh, still steaming when it arrives at your table. I can’t even begin to describe the grits and the Mac and Cheese; they deserve their own rave review! I’ll definitely be back soon. Butter Brown, you have my heart!

I had the most incredible jerk skillet ever! The shrimp and grits were absolutely phenomenal as well. We did have to wait a bit for our food, but it was definitely worth it. Just to be honest, not everything in our order was perfect, but we were totally okay with that. Please visit this restaurant to support their business, as the food is amazing. Just make sure to give yourself some extra time!
A true hidden gem! The service is just as fantastic as the food. It felt like I was visiting my grandma's house for brunch. The staff is warm and friendly. And the FOOD!!! It's delicious and served in generous portions. I had the shrimp and grits with chicken andouille sausage, and every bite was packed with meat and flavor. This has definitely become my new favorite spot!
We were excited to come and support a new (for us) small business yummy sounding. However, the hours listed here and on their window said they opened at eight. We arrived at 8:50 AM and the place was shuttered. Disappointed. I checked their Facebook page to see if maybe something had happened, and their Facebook page has zero activity.
Both Google and the sign outside the restaurant indicate that they are open from 8 AM to 4 PM today. I arrived at 8:35, but the door was locked and the inside was completely dark. I waited for a few minutes, but there was no sign of anyone being there.
