butterfly garden deserves four stars for a dish her deepth fried battered auplant with spicy blackbean sauce. you get a deep bowl for $12,80 and it's good. a little salty and garlicky, but good and the best prices auberginen in walsh bay. seriously, before they go for noodles at lotus or when they are turned away from the lotus like an ordinary builder) they buy a bowl of their deepth fried battered aubergine to come by. it is a guilty joy and worthy food addiction. there are things that need serious raffination. their suppers would benefit from more sweet, less maisflour, homemade fabric, ingwer, garlic, crinkled and seasoned. to garnish the prawn dumplings from a simple hot and acidic sauc...

We've been to this relatively new place twice. The food here is what you'd expect but nothing special, and serve sizes are good. A mix of yum cha/dim sum and southern Chinese - we stick to the dim sum dishes. The service is reasonable even on busy theatre nights which is when we were there. What lifts this place's rating above the average are: 1) the low food prices (relative to the generally high prices in this area) and 2) the very reasonably priced wine and beer list (relative to almost anywhere in central Sydney). So if you're after a quick meal and a glass of wine before theatre at competitive prices, this is the place for you.

A surprisingly pleasant and welcome spot in this precinct which can be difficult at times. It's a very relaxed and open space with a calm decor and comfortable seating and lighting. There's plenty of standard fare on the menu and its quality is reasonable. The service was a bit haphazard but always friendly and relaxed. As others have pointed out the drinks are very fairly priced. but still don't expect too much of a bargain. It's a great find for a meal to go with a show at the nearby theatres, and parking can be surprisingly easy too.

We had dinner here before seeing a play at the Roslyn Packer Theatre, so the location was very convenient. It was a balmy summer's evening, so we sat on the street in the dappled shade of the street trees. The service was efficient, polite and attentive, the meals were served promptly, and the food was some of the best quality Asian cuisine we have ever eaten. We chanced upon Butterfly Garden and sat out at tables on sidewalk.Food range was reasonably large and presentation was really excellentAccompanying sauces were delicious as was food and generous sizes.Cooking style is Chinese Considering it was Hickson Rd in Walsh Bay the price was very reasonable and were drink prices. They allow BYO and there's a bottle shop next doorThis would be perfect for pre-threatre dinner

Reasonably priced authentic Chinese food. Lots of options on the menu. We tried the Gourmet Meal A . Attractively presented range of freshly cooked savoury and sweet selections, with generous portions. Service was swift, friendly, unobtrusive. Proved to be a winning choice for pre-theatre supper.

this place was something under the average. the food seemed loaded with black pfeffer and the meat and the chicken was very chewing. I gave it three stars because the service was good and it seems to be family owned. the hostess was also the waitress and she worked very hard.
