This busy and surprisingly roomy bar is apparently open until 2am every day. We certainly didn't and verify this, but visited both in the evenings for an aperitif, as well as during the day for coffee during our recent stay in Bordeaux. The decor is excellent, and puts one almost in the mind of Gordon's Wine Bar in central London. The staff are also friendly and helpful. They don't serve food beyond tapas but this is a street with a vast number of restaurants so this really isn't a problem. Definitely worth a visit if you have a thirst in Bordeaux.
We came across this little pub as we were wandering around looking for somewhere for a pre dinner drink. It was exactly what we wanted. Reminiscent of a good old British pub, it was busy, but we were served quickly and efficiently. Situated in the street where there were lots of restaurants, it was just a few steps to our dinner venue. The pub serves small plates of tapas too.
Good, lively pub atmosphere spoilt by arrogant and rude staff. I was given the kind of surly, the customer is last service, I thought had died out in France a long time ago, Felt like the place was being run as their own private party. In addition, disconcerting to see plates of tapas left on the bar open to any sneeze or cough from a passer by.
Stopped in for a drink and what a find this place is! You feel like you are back in time. Café Brun was crowded, but bar service was quick and they have a good beer and alcohol selection. One big screen TV dominates the bar, but most patrons were into conversation. Will make a habit of visiting this place.

Stop here for a drink while in bordeaux with my wife the atmosphere was very relaxed the beef was good and a decent price. There was no live music on at the time we called on Friday night we were there which is what we were looking for but everything else about the bar was very nice.

Nice bar, friendly service, good range of drinks. Visited twice in the hope of some jazz (as promised on website). Got bland recorded pop instead.
Cafe brun was a regular watering stop on a recent 5 day trip to Bordeaux. Great atmosphere and selection of drinks, service was very good too.

Discovered this bar in Bordeaux on our fist night and came back every day of our stay. Loved the atmosphere and they have some great staff.
Live Music in a small room. Not a cover band either! Type of pub with knick knacks covering the walls. Great selection of whisky.
