This restaurant is an absolute gem. Laurent the head-waiter was wonderful, helpful, and professional on a level rarely seen. He also spoke perfect English which is always appreciated. The wine menu was large enough to accommodate any taste. I enjoyed a regional mushroom, egg, and...bacon soup/dish, followed by an enormous carbonara pizza, and topped off with a pistachio creme brulee. The food was fantastic. Additionally, the patio area where I sat is absolutely lovely. Umbrellas at every table to provide shade, and a dense hedge of ivy and shrubs to give that cozy feeling of enclosure. We stayed at Chateau Longecourt-en-Plaine for one night and had dinner at Cafe de la Place. Don’t be deceived by the simple and down to earth decor of the restaurant, the food is really delicious. Everything is homemade and finger-licking good. Good value for the...money too. Service was wonderful. The head waiter Laurent went an extra mile to accommodate our special request and professionally translated the French menu to us in English. We were so impressed with the food and the service that we went to their sister restaurant Home Cooking restaurant Brazey-en-Plaine the day after to have lunch. Food was heavenly there as well.

Staying locally at Airbnb we were recommended to go to this restaurant within walking distance.A great find! Small selection of entrees,mains and desserts was very adequate and over nights we tried mains and desserts between us.Nothing could be faulted for good...cooking, presentation and price.We tried the most expensive premiere cru local white wine and it was a lovely end to our time in Burgundy.As it was a balmy night we sat in the courtyard of the lovely building. Do not be put off by the fact it does pizzas too..there were many take aways going out the door and comments from other tables who had them were positive.

for a formula at 15,9 € including, entrance buffet, dish, cheeses, and dessert, 1/4 wine and coffee, there is really nothing to say! The entrance buffet is neat and varied, we then had a well cooked cute net accompanied by homemade fries, really excellent, a nice plate of cheese garnished with dried grapes and nuts (belle originalité que nous avons apprécié) and all this with very good bread. dessert was also delicious and well presented. reception and service were courteous, attentive, all with a smile. As we stay at Longecourt en Plaine, Cafe de la place is the only choice for us in the area. The food didn’t disappoint us. We order Oeufs à la Bourguignonne (tradition Burgundian poached egg) and Escargot and it was the best we ever had...during the trip. Laurent, the head waiter, was also the star of the restaurant. His playful character and service really impressed us and was one of the reason we went back the next day. Totally recommend if you are in the area.

WOW this place deserves higher praise. From the lovely patio seating, to the incredible food, to the even better staff (Laurent!! .. this place is not to be missed! Everything was absolutely fantastic in every way and blew our expectations out of the water. Whether...you're staying locally or just passing through, stop here for a wonderful atmosphere, happy tastebuds and a full belly! Would recommend to anyone and would eat here again in a heartbeat.

pleasant and caring welcome. have taken dish and dessert for 12,90 €..There is also a formula at 15, 90€ with entrance, dish, cheese,dessert and 1/4 wine and coffee. very good and fresh. very pleasantly surprised by the kindness, service, cleanliness of the place. Find out. . currently closed for 3 weeks of leave. well deserved.Sinon open every noon and Friday/Saturday evening. closed on Sunday except for group reservation.

After a long day of boat maintenance we were wanting a nice dinner but not too expensive and cafe de la place was just right. The recently renovated modern interior blended well with the old building and Laurent, the head waiter did an excellent job....We would happily eat there again. Reserva una mesa ahora

a restaurant worthy of the greatest a reception super a romantic setting the dishes a delight a single flat they are closed every Sunday so on July 9, 2017 they were firm!

We had a great meal at the café de la place. We highly recommend the canard and bavette. The service is outstanding
