The Bistro of the Hotel de Beaune has a terrific location in the center of Beaune and over recent years the interest of the menu has increased. However, because of a recent contretemps involving wine, I have to recommend that people should avoid the restaurant.I have stayed at the Hotel de Beaune with my wife probably about 8 times over the past 10 or 15 years and usually eat at the Bistro once or twice during the stay. On this occasion, for the first time ever, I asked if we could drink a bottle of wine that we brought with us. This is a great little gaff, centrally located and well worth a visit. The dining room is charming with well spaced, comfortable tables. The front of house staff are outstanding - alert, helpful and quietly efficient - whilst the small kitchen does a brilliant job of turning out appetising dishes. The wine list is awesome if you have any interest in the best vinous offerings from Burgundy, with three whites and three reds by the glass on the menu, and is supplemented by a decent choice of champagne. Lovely location in just off the main square of Beaune, with a small courtyard setting out the back if the weather is nice – the weather was perfect. You can relax away from the buzz of the square. Have to love a restaurant where the menu is two A4 pages and the wine list is a telephone book. I ended going with a nice half-bottle of 2013 Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin ‘Les Cazetiers’. The Beef Tartare was moreish and well done, the truffles and fried egg was so, so good, who would have thought such simple ingredients could create such a hedonistic dish. J'ai acheté une assiette de pâtes au pesto pour 10 euros les 80 grammes. Soit 15 centimes le gramme pour... des pâtes, sans accompagnement, juste le pesto: quelle arnaque. Je suis allé voir Harry pour demander des explications (si il s'était trompé avec le menu enfant) il m'a dit que 80 grammes c'est la portion normale, qu'il ne peut pas en rajouter et que c'est comme ça. Il m'offre juste quelques morceaux de pains pour me caler l'estomac. Nous n'avons pas pris de vins car ils sont hors de prix. The cafe of the Hotel de Beaune is next to the hotel bistro and the hotel itself, and has some tables outside, just to the north of the Place Carnot.A tip for travellers to the tourist spots is to inspect the toilets first. Some of the popular bistros have dirty facilities, which do not inspire confidence as to the general hygiene of the place. The cafe is small, but spotless. It has a wood fired pizza oven and an deli fridge from which all the cold food is taken for preparation by a young and enthusiastic chef. Items on the menu can therefore be modified to suit the guest's taste or dietary requirements. It is no more expensive than other cafes in the same area and well worth a try.
My wife and I had a great meet at Le Bistro. Though as a result of a pending hail storm we had to eat inside the meal was fantastic and service was great. My wife had the monkfish and I the Veal Milanese and Fois Gras as a starter.Food was great. I did see one of their house specialties is a chicken for two. That looked excellent and prepared table side. I would get that next time.Definitely a place to go to when in Beaune.The court side, off road private patio is great. That would be the place to be on a nice evening.I would definitely come back. Really enjoyed it.
Skøn gårdhave helt centralt i Beaune. Mange franske gæster. Menuen fair i pris med 5 gode retter. En raffineret sashimi med laks i citron og blomster, et let pocherer æg overdænget med trøfler i rigtigt store mængder, en hel Bresse kylling trancheret og delt til to, samt et ostefad med et væld af oste i høj kvalitet. Mængden skyldtes nok tildels min medspiser sprang den over. Endeligt klassiske crépes flamberet i Grand Marnier. Serveringen af høj standard og alle råvarer ligeså. En gastronomisk perle af de klassiske. Et besøg værd.
We were late arriving at restaurant after a super busy day. Staff welcoming and soothing despite our tardiness. Lovely table in courtyard. Tired and thirsty. Waiters helpful and friendly. No delay in getting our food and it was delicious - particularly the John Dory. But too hot for dessert....so will have to return.

Our meal here was very delicious! I would definitely recommend a meal here! My daughter and I both had the fish and it was cooked perfectly. The creme brûlée was a perfect ending to a very good meal.
When you are in Beaune do not hesitate to go to this bistro .We tried the escargot de Bourgogne and the Lotte and Pigeon. Wine by the glass .Best in town!!
